The familys reason for wanting to see the pictures is justified in my opinion. Herzog was a ruthless killer and got off way to easy. IMOO
 
Shermantine is just a fat, soulless, remorseless *advertiser censored* looking for candybar money and has absolutely no desire to offer 'closure' to any of his victims families. It is 100% self-serving and attention seeking motive which has rendered him no safe yard time, as he has become #1 yard target for his new notoriety and canteen privileges. Richard Allen Davis has been bumped to number 3 since this has arisen. Scott Peterson is now dropped to #2 wanted yard hit. . The cash bonus will be rapidly expired yet his upgraded hit status will be long lived. He has only dug himself a deeper hole with the DR boys. Padilla isn't going to supply him with crap. His glory days were over the day they began. If he didn't think his life on DR was hell before, he is grasping that reality now.
Could life on DR get any worse? Yep!

Wish I could say more.. In the know but unable to divulge how/why.

I'll sleep better knowing that Shermentine is the number 1 target in prison. Lets hope they make him suffer first!!

There is a possibility that that was the plan. The money, the publicity are all perks sure. But the possibility exists that he is tired of being imprisoned, he is tired of waiting for an execution that hasn't come and maybe is unable to take his own life, or for reasons of his own wants the bigger splash of being murdered in prison.

I do think that Hobson reached him in some way. He seems to have been trying to give info on her daughters murder since his sentencing. And he made sure that the info about her DD was included in his first revelations.
 
As much anger I have for Shermantine, I want him to stay alive long enough to give closure to as many families as possible. I'm not sure how I feel about the death penalty (although in cases like these where people kill without remorse no matter what, I am for it-kill one to save a thousand), but I really do hope they get as many as possible cases closed. i think he was involved in over 70 slayings, and only 5 victims are found thus far...

Is that really what they are waiting for? For him to tell exactly who they are looking for? He didn't lie about the other locations why would he lie about that now? He wants the attention and lying about a location would end all that. He may not know who all of the people are, not by name anyway.
 
I think that S is trying to discuss a book with the FBI and they might be playing him to get more info. Though why S thinks the FBI can help with a book I don't know.

Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla received the 5 feet x 5 feet map and a phone call on Monday from the death row inmate.

"It's every time I talk to Wesley, its more people," said Padilla. "He mentions a young lady from Reno in 1996; a young Mexican man dumped in an orchard."

Not that it really matters to her now, but how insensitive a headline. In discussion about her being laid to rest, does it really have to mention her murderers? Could the headline not have concentrated on her as a person as an individual? Or the pain of the family or something other than her killers?

In an enormous, incredibly detailed map, Wesley Shermantine says there is another well, now covered by a driveway, sitting just feet from the original flood road dig site where more victims of himself and Loren Herzog are buried.

Grass is now growing over the original speed freak killers dig site on Flood Road in San Joaquin County.

It is good of the cop to volunteer to work on the case. From the way that article reads, it sounds like maybe they may have connected some of S.'s tips to actual persons, even if they don't have the bodies yet.

When they (LE, FBI etc.) all get done playing at looking and putting on a show, it sounds like we may need to get Tim Miller up there.
 
Authorities could be losing faith in recovering more buried remains of victims of two notorious serial killers after an excavation in Linden this week uncovered no remains.

Officials from the Sacramento division of the FBI and the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office Evidence Recovery Team dug on private property on Drais Road on Tuesday in an effort to find more possible victims of Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog, who were convicted in four murders but are widely suspected of more. After the unsuccessful excavation, one official expressed dwindling hopes of finding additional remains.
