Property search of missing toddler's family members conducted

A cadaver dog could be seen searching the property of family members of DeOrr Kunz Jr. Wednesday night.

According to grandmother, TBC, Bonneville County sheriff's deputies asked to search her home after the sheriff's office received a Facebook tip.

LEADORE — A private investigator spent today searching the Timber Creek Campground for signs of missing toddler DeOrr Kunz, Jr.

Philip Klein of Klein Investigations in Texas says he and his team have been conducting searches at the campground since early Sunday morning.

“We have obtained a cadaver dog from Georgia and we are currently doing a ground search on a specific area of the campground,” Klein tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Klein interview with KPVI news. Evidence found in the search has been turned over to LE. He now believes this is a case of intentional homicide and reiterates that he believes the "parents" know where the body is.

BOWERMAN: Well, I`m moving more and more towards it being a homicide, strictly because we`ve ruled out the abduction. We`ve ruled out wild animals. And just your general thought tells you that if there was an accident, there`s no reason not to come forward, state the facts, let us look at little DeOrr and say, "Yeah, we agree that`s what happened." And we can move on with our lives. But, none of those things have happened. So, the fact that we have no credible witness at this time that can clearly state he was at the scene, not only am I -- not believing he was ever there, but I`m believing that we have a homicide.

Sometime on that Friday afternoon, one year ago today, DeOrr Kunz, Jr. vanished, according to his parents.

“My 2-year-old son…we can’t find him,” DeOrr’s mother, Jessica Mitchell, told a dispatcher during a 911 call made around 2:30 p.m. that day. “He was wearing cowboy boots, pajama pants and a camo jacket, and he’s got shaggy blond hair.”

So began one of the most mysterious missing persons cases Idaho has ever witnessed.
