So going to post this now.

Thursday, August 16th:
*Status Hearing (@ CT) – IL – Noreen Kumeta Rudd (19) (newlywed/27 days married) (Sept. 14, 1973-reportedly killed in car accident. Noreen’s death classified as homicide in 2013, car accident believed to be cover up for murder.) – Donnie Rudd (76/31 @ time of crime) (husband) charged (12/1/15) & indicted (1/12/16) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. $4M bond, out on bond.
If convicted, Rudd faces a minimum of 14 years in prison and an indeterminate maximum sentence, according to 1973 sentencing guideline.
Also suspect in the April 4, 1991 murder of Loretta “Teri” Tabak-Bodtke (59). Rudd remains a suspect. In 1991, Lauretta Tabak-Bodtke, a client of Rudd, had threatened to file an official complaint against him to the Illinois State Bar Association. The next day, her husband found her shot to death in their kitchen. No charges have been filed on that case.
6/28/18 Update: Prosecutors rested their case. Trial expected to last through the end of the week.7/2/18: After 3 hours of deliberations on Monday, jury finds Rudd guilty of 1st degree murder. Judge revokes bond & he was taken into custody. Waiting for Sentencing date no update as of 7/9.
7/26/18 hearing for Def. Atty Grace to argue for new trial; no sentencing date is scheduled yet.
7/28/18 Update: Status hearing set for 8/16 & Motions hearing re all post-motions filed will be heard on 9/13. If Judge denies motions he will/could be sentenced on this date (9/13/18).

So I'm going to guess and say the next court date will be 9/13 - for motions hearing & if Judge denies these motions, he'll be sentenced....

Donnie Rudd, man convicted of murdering new wife 45 years ago, sentenced to 75-100 years in prison

September 13, 2018

"...Relatives and loved ones have waited decades for this day. They were in the courthouse Thursday knowing Donnie Rudd will likely never see a day of freedom again....

Thursday, prosecutors presented evidence that he killed another woman. A client of his, 59-year-old Loretta Tabak Bodtke, in 1991.

He has never been charged with that crime, so prosecutors presented evidence in the hope of increasing Rudd's sentence for the murder of his former wife....

In announcing the sentence, the judge said he did not consider the day long testimony regarding the murder of Bodtke. He said the evidence didn't meet legal standards."

Man convicted of murdering new wife sentenced to 75-100 years in prison
