Kanye west Moms dies

Many cosmetic procedures are done in "surgical suites" at the cosmetic surgeons offices and not in the hospital. This is something that should be discussed before a procedure is done. If I ever have any "work" done, I will ask that it be done at the hospital, even if it costs extra.
I think that most doctors, who have hospital privileges, will do them in the hospital. The ones who have suites bring in the specialists, don't they? I guess that you same some money by not having to pay for use of the hospital facility and room (??).

Don't you think that out in LA that Kanye's mother would have had a good doctor??

She probably did have a great doctor....sometimes these things happen and it has nothing to do with the doc...I guess when it's your time, it's your time.

Our offices share a floor with a prominent plastic surgeons. They have a surgical wing in their suite and do their surgeries right here. They also have round-the-clock nurses that stay overnight. The doctors also live within about 10-15 minutes from here so if there is an emergency they can get here quickly. Also, we are about 5 minutes from a very large hospital.

No, I don't think it's any cheaper to go this route - just more comfortable. Our orthopedist also has his own surgical suite in his offices. He did my daughter's knee surgeries there rather than at a hospital.

This seems to be more the norm lately. My son's tonsils removed in the surgeon's office too.

That's interesting. I always thought that it would be cheaper because hospitals charge so much for their rooms and facilities. Don't they need to have an anesthiologist on staff? How do they handle that?

The doctors all get charged for using the facilities too, so maybe they find it cheaper to work in their own suites. They all have anesthesiologists on staff as well.

ETA - I know next door, they have a couple anesthesiologists that they use. The anesthesiologists work at a couple different surgery suites like next door. They may be here twice a week, at another facility twice a week and another one once a week... something like that.

nan.. Here, at our hospital, we charge a room charge that includes supplies and a seperate charge for recovery time (it's all rolled into one nice little package/bill;) ). The pt also recieves a bill from Anes group and Doctor. I've worked for a doctor that had a suite in his office and what they do is up the cost because of their addtional cost of supplies, use of machines, gases, etc... I suppose it all depends on the facility. As far as Anesthesia they it depends how the office handles it. Some places the office will include anes in a kind of 1 charge bill; you pay 1 price and it all gets divided on the other side or you can get a charge from all parties involved.

Less likely to get infections, too. Hospitals are full of sick people.

I've had some cosmetic surgery done and my PS has his own operating room. He tacks on a flat $1000 to your bill just for the use of his OR. My guy has a full time RN. The work I've had only requires at twilight medication so the nurse and/or doctor handles that. He doesn't do tummy tucks.

I wonder what type of surgery she had that would kill her. Did she die at the hospital or at home?

You can die from all types of complications: anesthesia, blood clot, hemmorage, heart conditions, anything really but the above that are mentioned are the most common.

Oh Dear!:( From TMZ:

TMZ has learned that just weeks before Donda West died, a plastic surgeon refused to perform procedures on her because of a health condition that could have led to a heart attack.

We've learned Beverly Hills physician, Dr. Andre Aboolian, was set to perform a tummy tuck and breast reduction on Ms. West, but told her she needed to get clearance from an internist whom Dr. Aboolian recommended. We're told West never went to that doctor, and subsequently had the procedures performed -- but not by Dr. Aboolian.

Sources have confirmed to TMZ that Donda West, rapper Kanye West's mother, may have died either on the operating table or shortly after the procedure while in a recovery room.

Here's what we know: Sources tell us several months ago, West was scheduled for cosmetic surgery and she had been booked at Le Palais Chantique in Century City, a posh, hotel-like recovery center. We're told West postponed the surgery and therefore never showed up at Chantique.

There are two high-end recovery centers in L.A.; Chantique and Serenity in Santa Monica. TMZ has confirmed West was not taken to either facility this weekend.

If the fatal mishap was the result of a cosmetic surgery procedure, we're told the likelihood is that the complication arose either on the operating table or in the recovery room. The critical time things typically go wrong is the first two hours after the surgery.

Maybe this is God's way of saying "be happy with who you are." I'm interested to know if Kanye will write a song about this someday.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams has told TMZ that he was the doctor who performed cosmetic surgery on Kanye West's mother Donda before she died.

Dr. Adams told TMZ her death, which followed a tummy tuck and breast reduction, was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting.

This is Dr. Adams' website:

I feel sorry for the doctor, too. He must be terribly upset about this...

Dr. Jan Adams is the guy who hosts Plastic Surgery: Before and After on TLC or DHC. This is so sad. Prayers to the West Family.

I love Dr. Jan Adams. This whole thing is so sad, but it defintiely happens.
I think most surgeons require a clean bill of health from an internist or cardiologist. I wonder if Dr. Adams got one from some doctor or if he did not require it?
My dad had his own surgicenter for his plastic and reconstructive surgery practice.
The trend around here for many doctors is they all go in together and purchase a nice surgicenter and book differnt times for their own practices.

I can't believe the stuff TMZ has dug up on her doctor! Multiple dui's, a sexual assault charge by a patient, malpractice suits, etc. I would NEVER let that guy come near me. Yikes! From what I have read, she should have been sent directly to a recovery center and not to her home.

Was he convicted of that sexual assault charge? I believe the dui bit, but let's be real. After people hit a certain tax bracket many money grubbers will say anything to get a piece of it.
Sorry if I offend anyone, this is just my opinion.
