Here is another article about an Iowa bill that would make convicted kidnappers serve longer prison sentences:

snip

Officials have continued to search for any link to Michael Klunder and the 2012 Evansdale abduction and slaying of cousins Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, and Elizabeth Collins, 8.

They went missing while riding their bicycles, which were found near Meyers Lake on July 13, 2012. Their remains were found by hunters Dec. 5, 2012, in Seven Bridges Park in rural Bremer County, about 25 miles away.

If this bill passes, I wonder if it will make any difference?

I contacted that and Tony Thompson and another site.:scared:

Cinder you have been sleuthing the hard way for the rest if us since this began.

Thank you for all you have done.

Its been invaluable.

And no, I don't think TT is not responding to you is because he has "no idea". I think he's probably just too busy to share details of an active investigation!

:please:

I contacted that and Tony Thompson and another site.:scared:

I emailed Tony Thompson before and he responded. Mainly to say that it wasn't his investigation. Did you try Smock?

I was finally contacted back and all I can say is they took me very very seriously. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone remember what the girls were wearing the day they went missing?

I can't link it but I found a poster that said that Lyric was wearing light green shirt and shorts.

"I left for work at 8:30 that morning, and so Lyric was still in her pajamas. She was in a bright green shirt. Sometimes she tends to wear that same pajama outfit, you know, with my mother over to my sister, Heather`s. I know for sure she had on her purple flip-flops. And that`s the only shoe that has -- is missing from the home. So we know that for sure. There are about...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, tell me that. What was that? What?

M. MORRISSEY: My understanding...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes, tell me that. Spell it out. Describe what was missing.

M. MORRISSEY: What was missing is her purple flip-flops. They`re just maybe a Wal-Mart brand. They`re flats. They`re purple. They`re about a size 9. We believe that they have the diamonds across the top that go over the foot. They are a size 9. It`s the only shoe that`s missing for Lyric right now.

As far as clothing, I woke up and seen her in her green -- a bright green shirt. After she left, I`m not sure what she wore.

Elizabeth, my understanding, has on her white T-shirt, her black high tops with pink on them. So that`s kind of the description that we have right now."

“This isn’t the first time we have investigated a connection like this,” Smock said. “At this point, we want to keep the community and families informed and everybody wants closure but they also want justice. We don’t want to falsely implicate him (Klunder) if he’s not involved. He’s no longer alive but he has family and if we get the wrong suspect, the real one will go free.”

IMHO: LE has to be very careful letting the public know of any of their suspects/POI

That link doesn't work for me. :(

Am I the only one who thinks it strange Misty didn't know exactly what they were wearing? Even if she wasn't there when they left, Wylma was, and surely the discussed it when they were performing their own original drive around search?

Have you seen two little cyclists wearing...um...were not sure....

Nope the whole family should've been able to list off what they had on, IMO.

On another case, I need our resident dog expert member name. TIA.

It's funny spelling. SOS!

Granny deux? Please help me out. :loveyou:

Here's another one that Cold Justice just solved. Sixteen years later!
Episode will be on late Feb or early Mar.

Local detectives say the show provided additional homicide investigators as well as forensic lab testing that would've taken CPD about a year to receive results on if they were on their own.
