Missing Lonzie Barton - Surveillance Video

--@ approx. 0.26----car drives by in the direction/area of where it was found

--@ approx. 2:35----2 minutes later, ruben, wearing the same clothes as he had on at JSO that night, runs in the other direction, back to his apartment.....calls 911

:bump:

Interesting that the reporter wasn't allowed to bring camera, note pad or pen. I wonder if she was allowed to record audio (do they even use tape recorders anymore?).

Otherwise this article contains simply what the reporter remembers (meaning no offense to her). If the article came back to bite him on the bum then WRE could claim she got it wrong, especially with no video, audio (assuming it wasn't recorded) or written notes to back it up.

Just musing...probably a moot point because the interview doesn't reveal anything new. However, hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to preserve my good name/proclaim my innocence, I'd want to be sure the reporter got all the details correctly. Now, if I was guilty of something, I wouldn't want a camera recording my words, vocal intonations, facial expressions...the thinks a profiler might be able to use against me. Just my two cents...

The chief did not release this info for our benefit. It was released to put pressure on one person to come clean. Hint: it isn't WRE.

So WRE is covering for someone and LE are using this video and threats of a murder charge? They would go that far? Or am I misunderstanding (again!)....

I wonder if cadaver dogs alerted on his car?

Or someone is covering for WRE because they think he is innocent or that it can't be pinned on him. jmo

Doesn't matter, all visits are recorded except lawyer visits. We will likely see them at trial.

So if he ran home after parking the car, was he just coming back from the dump site? Was he in a hurry because he had to get Lonna? Was he running to sound as if he was in a panic? To make it seem he was running after the vehicle? But he was spotted at the gas station and laundromat too, not much earlier right?

A little off topic. I'm not blaming the judicial system for this tragedy but. I believe a condition for WRE's release on the latest drug charges was that he have no contact with Lonna & a curfew of 7 PM to 7 AM. Did the court have a reasonable expectation that he would abide by this order? I doubt it. Are they on the honor system with drug dealers & domestic violence abusers? Unbelievable.

I wonder if he cut through someone's property to get to the apartment more quickly? I don't see a direct route.

I think he probably did cut through someone's property. There is a long drainage ditch between Ravenswood Apts and Naranja Drive S. I lived in that immediate area as a kid in the 70s, and we all would jump the chain link fences and cut through those drainage ditches to get places. It wasn't until they mentioned the street the surveillance video was taken on that I realized exactly where on the Southside his car had been found. I'd imagine if he was able to hop a fence to the ditch and get to the back of the complex, he'd shave at least 10 minutes off the run, and close to half a mile in distance.

Yep, I think you are right. Poor, misunderstood Mr. Ebron.

Not only that, but he missed a court date on the Tuesday previous (info from an article linked up-thread). He should have been sitting in a cell on Thursday, not disappearing babies.
IMO

Thanks so much for this!

Good questions! IMO I think we're looking at a rough time frame of either 8pm - midnight or else 12:30 - 2 am.

Since there's video of Ebron at the gas station around 12:33 I think it's possible that whatever he did to Lonzie occurred before that time. If there is no other video of him between 8 pm and midnight or so then I also think it's possible that Lonzie is well away from Jacksonville. IOW Ebron would have had approximately four hours to murder Lonzie and dispose of his body. He could have driven anywhere from a half hour to one and a half hours or so away from Jacksonville.

Of course if there's evidence - video or otherwise - from the laundromat then that could throw my timelines off.

Ebron had said he was leaving to pick Lonna up from work when his car was stolen but Hackney says in the presser (around (9:12) that during the time of the video "at this point mom was somewhere, either at Wacko's getting a ride or on her way back."

So he either called her to tell her what happened, called her earlier that night to tell her to get her own ride home or there was never a plan for him to pick her up after work that night. I wish we knew which one it was.

So what happened? Did he dispose of this poor child after the laundromat visit, and park out front, leaving the little girl in the car as a staged alibi?

Amber Alert Media Briefing - 08/03/2015 5:00 p.m.

I am absolutely certain someone else has posted this, but I had to do it just so I can add this: God, I love this man. There. I said it, don't care who knows. :happydance:

And I want to say this to all who transcribed the PC: :loveyou: :tyou:

Will ActionNewsJax release their full interview or what? There isn't much in the article. Was it televised?

IMO someone must love the casinos.
Since the chief keeps referring to WRE's family and now poker hands...
Didn't he say the reward would go to whoever came forward? Friends, family, etc.
In the interview w/RE's parents recently, the mom said if she had the money for his bond she wouldn't post it.
She'd give the money to the FindLonzie effort.
More money has come in. Is is @all possible that they will give info leading to Lonzie and are waiting for the $$$ to increase?
I don't even wanna think that, but someone must love a good "game".
