Thank you for spending time here with us to help us understand. Listening to all of his confessions, I noticed when he misses or talks about his dead family, he always puts it in terms that show their value to him, not in their own right as individual, independent lives with futures/hopes/dreams. For example (one of many), he talks about how he doesn't know why he did it when he always wanted to be a dad or when he says that he will look outside and wonder what "we" could have been doing outside today. He never once talks about their individual lives cut short - just how he no longer has them in his life. I have likened it to his caring for them like they were a vintage car he restored (since he is into cars) - people will care deeply about keeping them in pristine condition, enjoy them, care for the prized car. But once that car is gone, they might miss the times they could still be having with the car and remember it fondly, but they would obviously, since it is an inanimate object, not think about the car's own feelings, desires, wants, value. Does that make sense? It is perhaps too rudimentary an analogy - but I'm wondering if this does reveal a sociopathy or other disorder? I just have never seen him once, in hours and hours of tape, indicate anything that resembles remorse for the lives he took away in their own right - just in terms of their loss to him and that it was a wrong and horrible thing to have done. He comes across as a very sweet/kind man otherwise, so I am wondering if he lacks an ability to feel the things we feel for other living things - empathy I guess - even though he has no history of hurting living things in his past...perhaps just shutting people out like his parents when they disliked SW. Is it possible he never had a need to get rid of anything before so the lack of empathy did not show? Could he have learned to mimic empathy so well in everyday life as to be persuasive before this? After all, he did research what it feels like when someone says I love you on Google when he was "falling" for NK. Thank you in advance if you could answer this for me!
Yes. He objectified the girls. He's not the only one who did that though.

I don't think he cared about the whole power trip, or having the four of them together. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. I think after he killed S he just wanted to get her out of the house as quickly as possible. I do wonder why though, once he was at the site, why did he kill Cece right in the back seat next to Bella? You would think he might have taken her out of the truck, more room, more convenient for him, wouldn't have any mess in the truck ( sucked just typing that!).
but poor Bella... Why did he make her watch her beloved baby sister die? It makes no sense, ( not that any of this does!), unless he planned to just kill them both in rapid succession, ( is the only thing I could come up with as a possibility), but for some reason he couldn't do both?
I have a feeling he was more connected to Bella than CeCe. Remember, in his confession he did seem bothered about killing Bella.

“It’s not a typographical error in the report. [The detectives] are reporting what was contained in the data from her phone. I don’t know the answer to the question of why or how those dates ended up in her phone.”

‘This is not a witch hunt’: Chris Watts prosecutor cannot explain data from girlfriend’s phone showing Shanann Watts internet searches months before affair began

Have any of you read the novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (there’s a film, too, but the book is much better)? NK strikes me as a kind of “Amazing Amy” wanna-be, someone who plots out a scenario, months, sometimes years, in advance. There’s something really wrong with her Googling both CW and SW MONTHS before the affair started. She really did “pursue” him, in more ways than one.

I think maybe CeCe was sleeping at that time and it was easier and faster for him just to smother her, less crying, less resistance. I think that he did not care about their feelings, just wanted to be “efficient”...sigh.

Yes. And like Amy, she is also bitter.

I agree with what you say. This case really gets to me too. It's so sad and so senseless
To clarify my point I meant maybe Chris took substances to boost he and NK's sex life like Viagra stimulants or steroids. You know to impress her. NK said he hardly slept. Could have affected his thinking process if it were so.

Your idea makes a lot of sense. It could have been so that chronic lack of sleep caused moods and actions that he now can not explain in any reasonable way.

I think the 'straddling her' for however many minutes story is BS. She didn't fight because she couldn't. Either she was facing down and/or away from him, or he strangled her during sex, catching her off-guard. No woman, no matter how Christian she is, is not going to pray while being strangled if she can defend herself instead! There is a reason why Coder was "confused" when he explained all of this...because it is not true and it makes absolutely no sense.

I believe it wasn't enlightening because CW cannot bring himself to admit to others that he did exactly what Coder said during the first confession was what a "monster" would do - met a young, attractive mistress and murdered his family to start fresh with her. I believe there are accidental allusions to this knowledge aforethought in the latest confession - such as getting used to not being a dad and family man when he spent so much time away from the family home with NK and waking up with murder "implanted" in his brain. I may be in the minority, but I just don't believe there was a ton of resentment and anger toward SW - I think he was happy in his marriage and with his family until he "fell" for NK. Then came distance, frustration, and a web of lies that cornered him and he decided on the best way out of his lies. MOO

I think Coder did sum it up perfectly. CW IS the monster who met a young mistress and he murdered his family so he could be with her.

The timing of the affair was no coincidence. I think CW was open to having a sexual fling when Shanann and the girls were out of town. NK had been online dating and I believe she was looking for a husband. She was having no luck.

Was there real love between CW and NK? They fed off one another for sex - oops, six weeks. As we have all witnessed, CW goes beyond having for brains. He's downright disordered. As for NK, she's an incredible piece of work, IMO.

He had everything, but he thought he deserved something that was never real and he annihilated the people who loved him the most for absolutely nothing.

Could of put SW in the garage/truck and still kill babies inside the house. So perplexed why he kept them alive until arriving Cervi.....

Or the memory of Bella pleading with him and trying with all she had to fight him off is the most vivid memory he has and that is affecting him. The thought of that scene he spoke about at the site would make a stone cry, I cannot imagine any living being not being affected by that if present as it happened.

Thank you. I first read that it was 2017, then that it was a typo, then, that that no, it was not a typo. I remember tons of discussions on it, but "not a typo" was my latest impression.
So, according to the latest news, it was still a typo?
NOT a typo. I recall there was a note generated by Cellbrite analytical tool that confirmed this (multiple threads ago)...

BBM, the interview transcript mentions NK's alleged Bipolar Disorder (near the end of the transcript), I had guessed at BPD (Borderline) in a much earlier thread, after watching (and listening to) her interviews. I'm sure that others on here were able to detect this in her as well, but it's a little bit spooky seeing it confirmed. These interviews make me feel queasy, and it's very difficult to listen to CW and understand some of the inflection in his voice. I can subjectively hear lies and truth, but confirming it with a visual would be helpful.

Does anyone have the link to the transcript? I listened to the interview, and got upset. CW behaved as if he met his old buddies with whom he was remembering old days. I understand Tammy and Graham’s situation, but he was sincerely happy to talk about all of it. So I would prefer to read. His giggles were irritating.

He came across like the chummiest guy ever.

I have two versions. One, he panicked when Bella woke up and for a while did not know what to do with them.

Two - I know I posted it, and it sounds odd, but i sometimes think he seriously planned to “disappear” his family and “move” NK to the house. Keep the decorations and change the object. In this case, he did not want the house to be “tainted” by three murders. They spoke about kids with NK, and she even gave him advices.
