Hi! I'm new to the group. I was watching the LISK documentary today and saw WebSluths mentioned. I have been interested in cold cases for many years. I am a nurse manager living in the southwest gearing up for the summer heat! I am a cancer survivor and now want to do the things I enjoy and am most interested in, so here I am!

Hey, I'm Stephanie.

I've been a guest on the site since "The Killing Season" in 2016 and have been essentially building the courage to create an account and assist in anyway that I can. And though I have been here often, I'm still totally overwhelmed with where to begin.

I know at this point, I'm very interested in assisting families with finding missing relatives as well as identifying those who have passed and sadly remain unclaimed by their loved ones. I'm additionally interested in all Michigan cases, as that is where I reside.

I'm pretty ready to tackle any case, just need a little help with where to begin! Regardless, I'm glad to be apart of the community, finally.

Welcome!
Please look at the Julia Niswender thread. Murdered EMU coed. Unsolved. Would love an opinion from a fresh set of eyes!

Hello WebSleuths,

Just joined from Albuquerque, NM. I was inspired to join by seeing this site mentioned favorably by a documentary on Netflix last night.

I'm a software engineer/scientist type, so I'll be looking for inspiration for programs I could write to help in this realm. If you have ideas, let me know.

Later,
Randy (Lladnar is Randall backwards...)

Hey Randy,

I just joined from Wales and had to let you know weirdly, in my first language 'llad' means slaughter, or to kill. Anecdotal but hi.

Beth

Hello all,

My name is Beth and I have just joined. I was born and raised in North Wales and now work in North of England. I'm interested globally in all and any unsolved crimes but particularly interested in missing persons cases and theuse of new technology to find them.

Anyway, thanks

Hi all, just joined. I live in Scotland, UK. A girl from my school when I was a kid became a victim of Robert Black. I came across this forum when learning about 'Jock' and Jane Doe. I don't think I'll be able to contribute much, I'm not law enforcement. But look forward to engaging with you all.

Hey... I'm so excited to be here. I'm a super duper true crime enthusiast, particularly interested in LISK and many other unsolved cases. I look forward to learning and sharing from and with all y'all! My grandfather was an LAPD detective in the 40's. It must be in the blood.

Hello everyone! I recently heard about this site, and thought that I might be able to help. There does not appear to be any guidance on how to format these intro posts so I thought I would just give some basic background information about myself.

I am an Iraq war veteran currently residing in New Jersey. Regarding pertinent experience, I have a combined 17 years of experience between the United States Army, county level Department of Public Safety, private security, and college level education. With reference to my education background, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Intelligence Analysis from the American Military University and am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, The New Jersey Veterans Network / Operation Rebound, and the Wounded Warrior Project.

My military experience includes combat tours to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and without going into more detail than I feel comfortable giving, includes experience in target identification and intelligence gathering. In total I spent just under 3 years in Iraq doing various types of missions including counter terrorism, counter insurgency, electronic warfare, VIP escort, route clearance, recovery, and security, quick reaction force, and manned the company level Tactical Operations Center (TOC) for a time.

On the civilian side I have experience assisting in police investigations, emergency management, intelligence analysis and gathering, National Crime Information Center database experience, law enforcement operations support, and fire / ems operations support; both at the county level and individual jurisdiction level.

I am currently dealing with some medical issues that keep me at home most of the time and has provided to me, as a result, a vast quantity of free time. It is mainly because of this and a desire to continue to serve, that I am here. I hope I can be of assistance and bring closure to people who are searching for it. In my opinion there is no higher calling than the desire to serve ones country, and humanity in general, and it is my sincere hope that I can make a difference in some fashion. I look forward to speaking with you all in the future!

- Respectfully,
Redleg

Hi everyone!! I'm M, I'm 18, and I'm a newer true crime enthusiast! I've been listening to Crime Junkie and found this site b/c of them. I don't really have any "favorite cases," but the idea of cold cases and helping to further them along is really cool... so we'll go with that. :)

Likewise!

Where would you suggest I get started?
Depends on what interests you. "Missing People discussion" is where I go to mostly. I follow a lot of those cases. "Crimes in the news" also (These are all on Home Page.). "New Posts" at top of page gives you the most recent mix of things.
