Tom Wilson, of Lexington, came to pay his respects to #FayeSwetlik ahead of her motorcade arriving at a funeral home here.

“I’ve got 8 grandchildren and another on the way. When we heard the news, my wife and I just down and cried,” he told me. ⁦@postandcourier

TODAY IS ABOUT FAYE

I was sexually abused as a very young child, from age 5 to age 8, and I have never become 'an abuser myself.' I got some help. A lot of it.

It is not a valid excuse. It's even more of a reason NOT to become an abuser, IMO.
I can’t let that go by without saying something to you. You already know you don’t need to hear it from anyone, but I am sorry that happened to you. It is dispicable.

1. You are brave. Brave for telling your story/history here. Brave for getting help.

2. I appreciate you. I appreciate your insights in this thread and others. I hope you feel loved and secure in real life.

3. I hope @oceanstarryeyes will chime in as I feel like I have read stats from her about who offenders really are. Just because you were abused does not mean you will abuse. Don’t let that mess with your head, or think that others are thinking that.

I'm curious if the woods where Faye was located are public property or who they belong to? Do they belong to the owner of those apartments/the place where CT lived? Do they belong to Napa?

I don't know that it really matters at all now, but just curious if LE would have even needed a search warrant to search them or if they were public property.

If they saw something that brought their attention to the area and pointed to her disappearance, they wouldn't have needed a search warrant. It would fall under probable cause.

Yes, this is known as the exigent circumstance doctrine which is an exception to search warrant requirements under the Fourth Amendment. MOO

The Fourth Amendment provides for the right against unreasonable searches and seizures but the US Supreme Court has identified several exceptions to the warrant requirement. Searching a home requires a warrant except under one of four narrow exceptions – search incident to arrest, plain view, exigent circumstances, and consent.

The following link provides information about when a warrant might be required to search your yard.

ADMIN NOTE:

Too many posts are having to be either edited or removed because members are discussing rumor instead of information contained in MSM or released by LE. Members need to be responsible for what they are posting and slow down and think more to ensure what they are contributing is fact before hitting that submit button.

Please stop the discussion/arguing over hair dye or what constitutes a word such as "monster". Not only is it more work for Mods, but it adds nothing to the discussion and is tiresome for members and guests who wish to read about the case itself.

Thank you.

Planting evidence is common. Look it up. The only connection linking CT to the crime scene is evidence found in CT's trash container. Until MSN reports more factual news, I can only speculate. Is there any surveillance video showing someone putting something into CT's trash receptacle? Any surveillance or dash cam videos of CT's movements? Still no suspect named. JMO
"Antley said police found “critical evidence” in the trash container outside Taylor’s home connected to Faye’s disappearance.

Moments later, Antley said Cayce police Chief Byron Snellgrove found Faye’s body in a wooded area between the child’s home and an auto parts store in Cayce.

Coroner Margaret Fisher does not believe the girl’s body had been in the woods for long.

Shortly after finding the girl’s body, police said they found Taylor dead in his home.
Investigators have not yet said how either person died."

Police: Evidence in dead man's trash can led officers to Faye Swetlik's body; both deaths are connected

I don't know that can said, we don't know everything that linked CT to this crime yet. There was mention of DNA, but not specifically what it was.

This poor mom that I’m guilty of vilifying will never ever forgive herself for turning her back for 15 minutes. And we SHOULD be allowed to let our kids play and run in to pee or grab a snack or sweep a floor. I am ashamed of myself for making assumptions. I really am. MOO

Thank you for owning up to jumping to conclusions about this poor mother. This time I never got the vibe that she had done anything to her precious daughter even before I heard the 911 call. It broke my heart...I could just feel the panic and terror in her voice. Yes, she will remember her actions that day forever...But I don't think she did anything wrong. We just get lax in remembering that there is possible evil around the corner...She never dreamed it would happen to them. We all need to be extra vigilant with our treasured gifts from God.

Faye was a minor so according to SC law the details will be made private. Apart from the police, only her family will be told the details and its up to them to reveal them.

Link please. Members need to provide a link to substantiate something stated as fact.

I would appreciate moving on from the discussion regarding hair color etc....critiquing a little girl in any way, who was just the victim of a homicide, seems to be in extremely poor taste IMO.
Much more to discuss in this case without tossing around questions or opinions about little Faye.

I am so sorry that happened to you. You are truly a survivor.
Side note...I always enjoy your input on this site.
