WHOAAA. Great Catch. Definitely pill popping. Wonder if Wilcott gave her something she was not supposed to have.

I saw her faking a headache earlier in that video, she was massaging between her eyes.

Just heard a tidbit from one of the defense attys on HLN:

[paraphrasing]

The reason that they are working so hard to get PTSD in is because of the upcoming DV expert. 'Battered Woman' is NOT a DMSV symptom, but PTSD is. So they need the jury to get onboard with the PTSD diagnosis.

I think they have failed so far.

Samuels is not credible IMO. His testimony is speculation. He has even admitted to that during certain questioning. His combative attitude towards Juan at times reminds me of Werner Spitz.

The fact she may have been wearing a sweater (as well as sweat pants and socks) now during the murder makes it even more likely that she snuck in and he had no idea she was there until seconds before he died.

SHE was the NINJA.

or the NON-JA

By the time you smelled it, it was probably dead for 2 weeks.

I doubt it. Dead things begin to smell very quickly. The room mates did smell something, but brushed it off as the dog urinating and defacating. The people who found travis, and the police/detective, immediately smelled it as well. It is absolutely distinct and overwhelming. Perhaps their noses began to cancel out the odour, perhaps they just never would have thought "must be a dead body in the house," perhaps they were just typical young men who couldn't be bothered to investigate or call someone about it...

Per the smell/temperature issue - there is a crucial factor being left out:

Lack of humidity. Humidity tends to spoil, Aridity tends to mummify/desiccate.

When I first came to AZ, one of my kids left a slice of turkey in her room and somehow she didn't see it and forgot about it. It didn't smell. At all. It turned into jerky, basically. This would not, could not have happened in NY. It was strange. Also, citrus (unless in a plastic bag) and pomegranates will harden and dry out if not eaten up. They don't smell. Liquids evaporate.

This could have been something of a factor in the roommates not detecting a smell in the first couple of days perhaps. Granted, a decomposing body is not a slice of turkey or a pomegranate, but the smell may not have been as apparent due to the low humidity - until maybe day 3 or 4 - with a closed door and an indirect route to the shower, the air may not have moved that much.

I don't understand why anyone is doubting the roommates on this issue... (?). I think if they had smelled something that concerned them, they would have investigated it. Apparently they didn't. I don't question their statements about this. Det. Flores knows this smell, and recognized it immediately. Had Travis not been found then, the roommates would have likely found him soon enough. They may have become accustomed to the smell - or figured it was garbage - or something coming from outside.

I certainly don't think they're being dishonest about this... They didn't catch on. That's about all there is to it, no?

Have no fear about Samuels' testimony, juror questions, or the forthcoming testimony of LaViolette either ... remember that they both met Arias considerably after the murder and Arias is a pathological liar. JM has already proven that Arias lied to Samuels and most likely lied to LaViolette. If I'm on that jury, I've already tossed all of Arias' testimony as garbage and tossed all of Samuels' testimony b/c Arias lied to him. To me, that only leaves the facts of the case and the inferences that can be drawn from them. Guilty of murder one ...

All I have concluded from Samuels is he based a PTSD dx in large part on the ninja tale, and he was snookered by the defendant.

But I can't figure out why the jury should care if she had PTSD. I don't believe it, but even if she did, WTH does it matter?

I didn't watch much of it today, but did catch that her score didn't even reach the PTSD threshold, although she did score high on anxiety. Too bad so sad.
Of ourse she was anxious. Not because she murdered Travis, but because she was locked up in jail on a first degree murder charge. No.freedom.

This trial has turned into a charade. I've never seen anything like it. This liar has created so much chaos and is causing a "huge waste" of resources.

Hi Curious: i am so with you here! I am sick and tired of those who care more about the rights of the defendant than what happened to the victim; our justice system is so skewed in the direction of the defendant that the victim gets lost in the shuffle. Juan Martinez is the passionte and brilliant voice for Travis Alexander- thank you Mr. Martinez for bringing justice back into the courtroom.

I stated earlier on another thread that my husband previously was a policeman. He finally got fed up and quit because he said the law was for the criminal.

The problem for the good doctor is that didn't he supposedly do a lot of work on cases in Arizona, per his run down about his qualifications?

RS has done oh about 15 assessments of this nature in his entire 30 year career. His own admission. So JW states and re-states that he's been a psychologist for 30 years? Who gives a chute? He's administered 15 of these tests in 30 years? How many of those did he do in a professionally determined context? Maybe he did 14 as part of a training program and one with JA?

pffttt...

Don't forget. This.Is.The.Best. "Professional". They managed. To get on the stand.

lol.

I don't know what is going with y'all's ACs because in Texas where it gets to over 100 degrees I am able to get the house cold enough to need to use comforters and wear a sweater. Like into the 60s.
Jumping off your post....
Texas is no different. If a house has a good A/C, you can keep it cool inside. The temps were only 90 in Arizona in June 2008. It wasn't the hot season, which can get up to 120. Indoors, in my home, it's can't be cold enough for the men, and it's never warm enough for me, all year round. I'm always in a sweatshirt. Not that I think it matters. If JA was wearing a sweatshirt, it was to cover her body from injury and blood spatter.

The roommates didn't notice that Travis was dead, for whatever reason they didn't do anything wrong. I can't imagine the "what ifs" they do every single day. It's not their fault and I think they have been through enough. :twocents:

Me too. I agree with you. Watching this trial feels like I'm back in University, where the professor (judge) is teaching the lawyer (supposedly DP qualified lawyer) as to how to pose questions and state objections. Despite respecting "sidebar" distractions to the utmost, my patience is has been duly tested and I would like to see professionalism from both sides at this point.

Wilmott also seems to think that it's ok to laugh, giggle and exchange "secret notes" with her client. Well, she's right - this is within the scope of "legal" but she looks sos stupid. In a million years, I couldn't imagine JM exchanging glances or notes with anyone while in the courtroom.

As to the mitigator "whatever" - she really should stop dressing like a ho and she should downplay her make up a bit. She knows she's being filmed every time she gets her 5 mins of "airtime" all tight and cozy with the "star". It's blatantly obvious every time that she is within camera with the defendant, that she's tooting her own bloody horn. It would serve her much better (and her client) if she would tone it down a bit.

moo

Hey! Mitigator! Hiya! We watch you too!:seeya:

It looked like Arias was about to smack her a wet one right on the lips for crimes sakes!
She leans right in at her I was sitting here thinking OMEG!!!

BTW Pink Panther, I answered your post above re: her in court antics today: besides the eye rolls and poor pitiful me act!!!:seeya:

Yes but there is quite a difference in mass between a mouse and a human body.

I just heard Vinnie Politan say it's not PTSD - it's BS...

I'll do him one better and call it PTBS. (the PT standing for Proven Turpitudinous).
Or, as another poster here termed it: Post-Travis Slaughtering Disorder

She is definitely taking something. The water chaser is a dead give away that she's not popping a Tic Tac. We know that the players in this trial are likely either reading here, or watching the HLN shows who steal the good stuff from the intelligent peeps here anyway, so we know the PT knows what's going on. Will we see a guard taking much more interest in the defendant tomorrow? Let's take a gander at what's changed since we commented on it:

1. Defendant no longer allowed to hide behind her hair curtain;
2. NG stopped wearing the annoying barrette;
3. Nurmi stopped picking his nose on camera;
4. JW and KN stopped dressing alike (didn't like the Tit and Tat reference I guess)
5. Mitigation specialist finally "buttoned up";

Not to mention NG's comments about testimony that day that sound eerily familiar to anyone who reads/posts here. :waitasec:

I would bet the PT is hearing about JA's little antics. I'm also betting someone will be keeping a closer eye on her. :eye:

You know Nurmi is just dying to go spelunking up his nose again! :floorlaugh:

Another one I noticed is that yesterday a member here mentioned they knew something Jodi said because she's deaf and can read lips... today whenever Jodi spoke she either hid her mouth with her hand or crammed her lips right in someone's ear while they blocked the camera with their head... like that really awkward looking conversation she had with Miss Clevage where Miss Clevage practically rams her head into Jodi's fake ones while she's whispering in her ear. Yesterday I kept waiting for Miss Clevage to jump up and start doing a strip tease on cue whenever the Doc jammed himself in a corner looking like a fool, and today I kept thinking those two were going to end up treating the courtroom to a little kinky girl/girl *advertiser censored*.
:floorlaugh:

And WHAT is with Jodi's mom and her sister with constantly yucking it up like they're at a comedy show when their daughter/niece is on trial in a DP case??? I swear I'm ready for those two to jump up and applaud and throw confetti when Jodi is found guilty! What kind of mother laughs all through her own daughter's DP case???

She may be taking Valtrex for her cold sore.

Valtrex. Fine. Who cares. I really don't care what she took. If she was allowed to take it; I'll assume the courts/prison know what it was and sanctioned it. If they don't, they're plum stoopid and I'm also fine with that. Cyanide would be fine with me too at this point. I have never seen evil to this degree before and I don't think the jury has either.

Did you see her antisocial and histrionic scores?:eek: They were pretty high. How could the doc not be scared of her after seeing her fudged scores? She could barely fake being non-antisocial.

Just relaying this from the KatieCoolady thread:

The tie Travis's brother is wearing in the photo in the above link is from the anonymous Websleuther that gave sent them gifts. <3 Nice!

That's great that he liked it and it had meaning to him! BB, you did good, sending warm thoughts your way.
