After the one concerning the disappearance of Nelly Balmain, a few days ago, the public prosecutor of Valence decided to relaunch the investigation into the disappearance of Eric Foray. The relatives of these two missing persons are asking that checks be made against the tracks of Nordahl Lelandais, who may have crossed their path.

"There's finally gonna be a real investigation." Very affected by the disappearance of his companion, in 2016, in a small village in the Drôme (see our map of disturbing disappearances), Régis Pique broke into tears on Friday when he heard that the investigation was going to be relaunched. The couple's lawyer, Bernard Boulloud, had put up a strong public pressure for Eric Foray's disappearance to be cross-referenced with information concerning Nordahl Lelandais' whereabouts in recent years. The public prosecutor of Valence granted his request on Friday.

"We don't want to blame everything on Nordahl Lelandais, but I hope we finally get an answer," Régis Pique explained to Lyon Capitale. The local brigade in charge of the investigation will receive help from the gendarmerie investigators working on the Maëlys and Noyer cases, whom Nordahl Lelandais admitted having killed accidentally. An investigating judge has been appointed for this investigation. A second will supervise the restart of the investigations concerning the disappearance of Nelly Balmain in 2011 (see our map). The investigation was reopened a few days ago. As was the case with the disappearance of Adrien Fiorello, in the Loire, in particular.

Although the autopsy and DNA analysis have not yet officially confirmed the identity of the body found hanging from a tree in Talloires, Friday, the family of the young Belgian Adrien Mourialmé has no more hope.

"There is very little doubt about identity. The description corresponds to that of Adrien and personal effects were found near him," Mr. Decamp, his family's lawyer, confided to one of our colleagues from the Belgian media Sud Presse, in an article to be published today.

Several elements are put in evidence, first the body was found by hikers 800 meters from the place where this 24-year-old man disappeared last July. Then, as we indicated in our previous editions, his personal effects were found on the remains. "His wallet with his identity papers, his mobile phone, as well as a backpack containing a change of clothes for one or two days," lists our Belgian colleague.

Although Nordahl Lelandais' name was mentioned before he was found, his involvement has since been ruled out by the Annecy public prosecutor's office. Death by hanging on a very steep site could suggest suicide at first sight. But the young cook's family is skeptical.

"He wasn't in that state of mind at all," confirms Decamp. For him, the bag containing the change of clothes "rather suggests that he was going away for a few days." And not for a mountain hike. "He was not dressed for this type of activity, he argues in Sud Presse. He was wearing his town shoes..."

The public prosecutor's office in Annecy has not ruled out any possibility to date.

According to our information, the hypothesis of suicide by hanging is confirmed by the first results of the autopsy of the body found Friday, April 6 in Talloires-Montmin.

The genetic analyses will have to confirm if it is really Adrien Mourialmé, the young Belgian cook (24) disappeared since 9 months in Talloires-Montmin (Haute-Savoie), but the first conclusions of the autopsy on the body found Friday April 6 direct the investigation towards the track of a suicide.

"There are a priori no signs of suspicious violence," said Annecy Republic's deputy prosecutor Pierre Filliard. Given the state of the body, this hypothesis has not yet been fully validated, but "there is no other visible explanation," the magistrate said.

Further tests should be conducted within the week.

The body, hung from a tree, had been found by chance by hikers on Friday 6 April in a steep area of this commune which borders Lake Annecy. The gendarmes used a helicopter to access the site of the discovery.

On 12 April 2017, Corporal Arthur Noyer did not show up at the 7 a.m. call of the 13th Alpine Hunters Battalion at Barby (near Chambéry, Savoy). A year later, his parents Didier and Cécile Noyer reflect on a year of fighting.

Cécile and Didier Noyer welcome us at their home, in the living room of this family home in downtown Bourges. This week, Cécile, a private nurse (he is retired) is on leave. This was not done on purpose, but it's a good thing because "these are not easy days".

One year ago, on 12 April 2017, Arthur Noyer, their 23-year-old son, disappeared in Savoie. The corporal, a member of Barby's 13th Alpine Fighter Battalion, probably died the same day. On December 20, more than eight months later, Cécile, Didier and their other son, Quentin, were informed of Arthur's death and the indictment, for murder, of Nordahl Lelandais, already suspected of the kidnapping and murder of little Maëlys de Araujo, 8 years old, at the end of August 2017.

From then on, Cécile and Didier Noyer have been fighting to find out what happened that night, April 12, 2017.

A year ago, you were an ordinary family...

Cécile Noyer: "Yes, an ordinary family. With its ups and downs."
Didier Noyer: "A family with two 20-year-olds. Each one had embarked on his own path, each of them was happy. So we were happy parents."

When did you first hear that Arthur was missing?

Cécile : "On April 13, the day after he disappeared. The army calls us and asks us if Arthur is at home in Bourges. We're told he's been away since the 12th. I said right away that this wasn't normal. We had him on the phone on Sunday. He told us that he was going to come back during the Printemps de Bourges, to introduce some friends to the festival."
Didier : "We know each other so well. For us, it was unthinkable that this disappearance would have been of his own accord. Arthur has always been straight in his plans with us."

Then starts a fight to find your son.

Cécile : "On Thursday 13 April, as soon as I finished my round, we left for Savoie. The gendarmerie and his friends were already looking for him. We were received by Colonel Emmanuel Devigne (13th BCA Chief of Staff), who also told us that he did not understand."

Didier: "All the more so as Arthur was scheduled for a future external operation, as they wanted him to be a point of contact for his unit. And, in addition, his superiors wanted Arthur to join the NCO school."

Cécile: "The battalion had assigned all available men to search for a trace of Arthur. He could have hurt himself and fallen into a ditch. Or get amnesia and walk without knowing where..."

Didier: "Yes. There were really two families looking for one kid. His own and his brothers in arms."

Until this day of December 2017, when you find out about the death of your son and the custody of the alleged murderer of Maëlys...

Cécile: "We fell from the sky. And we understood there was no hope. Some friends told me that maybe Arthur was being held with Maëlys, that he was protecting her. I cried because it was quite like Arthur, but I didn't believe it. We were moving on to another stage. The wait was over."

Didier: "Our fight is there: let him be judged. For assassination. We're waiting for a conviction. For life. In perpetuity. A real life sentence. Because...[Didier Noyer leaves a blank and thinks] I allow myself to think that: he is a predator! He had spotted Arthur, just as he had spotted Maëlys. He uses a means to make contact: the dog for Maëlys, perhaps the fact that he was a former soldier for Arthur. He's a seductor. Then he denies, he confesses because he is obliged to (by the elements of the investigation, editor's note) and finally, he downplays everything."

Cécile: "He plays with families. He's tricky, he's using his right to lie, but he's not gonna destroy us."

Didier : "We're gonna do everything we can to make Arthur's death serve a purpose."

What do you mean?

Didier : "We are in this country perhaps a little careless with the disappearances of adults. We have nothing to reproach the justice or the gendarmes with regard to Arthur's case, but we would like to make things happen. That families no longer feel they are not being taken seriously."

Cécile: "In our case, we know, in eight days, our case was before the investigating judge. For us, everything was put in place on time."

Didier: "Of course, there is individual freedom. Of course, there are people who are victims of their loved ones and who manage to escape. But each case is unique. And a disappearance is still a family tragedy. There is a real job to be done between family, justice and investigators. When you look at it, you see a lot of disappearances for the same region..."

So does anyone know "how" the justices proceed in France now? Do they have like preliminary hearings or go straight to a trial? Sorry, not up on European style trials!

He is on the lookout for the slightest clue that would help him find his companion, Eric Foray, 48, who disappeared on September 16, 2016. Shortly before noon, Eric Foray had left their home to go shopping. At 12:15 hrs., he is seen for the last time in a bakery. He's been missing ever since.

But a link has just been established between Eric Foray and Nordahl Lelandais, already under investigation for the murders of little Maëlys and Corporal Arthur Noyer. In Nordahl Lelandais' address book, investigators found the name of a family member of Eric Foray, according to information from France 3.

The investigators are now multiplying the interrogations to determine if Eric Foray crossed paths with Nordahl Lelandais.

I just watched the video. It's so sad. The police teased his companion when he went to report his disappearance...

A little off topic, but wasn't Régis a model for Dior when he was young? I was curious and tried to find pictures of him in his modeling days, but no luck yet.

He was, and not a picture to be found. But if you do find one, you will recognize the face immediately.

This is odd, to say the least. Why wait until you find a name in an adress book? This member of Éric Foray's family might have come forward immediately if he had known Nordahl Lelandais.

Eric Phelippot : At this stage, as Stéphane Bourgoin said on your site a few days ago, we cannot say that Nordahl Lelandais is a serial killer, however there is enough to feed strong suspicions. Many cases have reopened and I think there are some surprises in store for us. He has the typology of a rather organized serial killer. He acts in different places for example. To be precise, we could talk about a mixed serial killer, because he doesn't hide his victims. If so, he must have started earlier between the ages of 20 and 20.

Planet: During our discussions prior to this interview, you raised the possibility that he was a narcissistic pervert. Why?

Eric Phelippot: From what I know of the case, neither Arthur Noyer nor Maëlys de Araujo were killed by firearms, so there was use of hands on victims who were weaker than him. You might think he's a narcissistic pervert. This type of personality likes to keep the hand and dominate and has no affect, empathy or remorse. With Lelandais, there's also an all-powerful side to the story as he only speaks when he' s cornered by evidence. Looks like a game with the investigators.

Éric Foray was fit and tall, probably taller than NL. And as far as we are aware, he wasn't incapacitated in any way, like Arthur Noyer (who would have stood a much better chance if he had not been drunk).

NL was a drug dealer, so it is likely that he had access to drugs such as GHB. It is easy to imagine the drug hidden in a sweet or a chewing gum and given to Arthur or Maëlys, or to a casual acquaintance for a possible other victim. To Eric, on a parking... not so much.

Justice is seldom in a hurry in France :cool: Even if this were a clear cut case with NL admitting he voluntarily killed Arthur and Maëlys you could wait 2 or 3 years before the jury trial. As he says the deaths were accidental + there might be other cases.... the investigators will try to establish the truth and as NL doesn't cooperate it might take several years.

He is not going anywhere anyway :jail:
