But the sister, Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, an exotic dancer in the Orlando area, has already made statements that suggest she's cozying up to law enforcement. Pasco County Sheriff's officials said they couldn't comment on whether this foreshadows Lee Grace Dougherty's defense strategy -- or if it signals a potential eagerness to turn evidence against her brothers in order to spare herself.

I have been away from WS from a bit, and was quite surprised when we returned from our camping trip, in the San Isabel forrest..... That they were caught right here in Colorado. We were there, with our children the same time as them, went into Walsenburg every few days for supplies etc..... Glad its a big forrest, lol, I missed all of the excitement!

I for one am proud at how it was handled, I am glad they are alive to face their charges, and really really hope that our justice system works well!!!!!

WALSENBURG, Colo. — Attorneys in Colorado discussed a possible plea deal on Monday for two brothers accused in a series of crimes in several states, including a bank robbery in Valdosta.

The Pueblo Chieftain reported that Ryan Dougherty and Dylan Stanley-Dougherty were granted a stay in proceedings until Jan. 30 so that federal and Florida prosecutors can decide what they want to do in the case.
--------

The sister, Lee Grace Dougherty, pleaded not guilty last month. Her trial is set for Feb. 21.
-------

Judge Claude Appel on Monday ordered separate trials for the siblings, each of whom is being held in lieu of $1.25 million bail at the Huerfano County Jail.

A freaking plea deal? They shouldn't be let out of jail ever. Especially since one of them is a sex offender. :maddening:

3 Fla. siblings get 35 years for Ga. bank robbery

http://www.centurylink.net/news/read.php?id=19205293&ps=931&cat=&cps=0&lang=en&page=1

VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) — Three Florida siblings involved in a cross-country crime spree were sentenced by a federal judge Monday to more than 35 years in jail.

Senior Judge Hugh Lawson sentenced Ryan Dougherty, Lee Grace Dougherty and Dylan Dougherty Stanley to identical sentences for their role in the August 2011 robbery of a South Georgia bank. Their spree began in Florida and ended in a shootout in Colorado.

Lawson went beyond normal sentencing guidelines, saying that even though the trio was young and impulsive, the "escapade" could not be condoned.

"Let me say this - this was a crazy dangerous thing," Lawson said from the bench. "I just think it is a miracle that no one was killed.".................

The three have already pleaded guilty to Colorado charges stemming from their capture in August 2011. Ryan Dougherty got 18 years, Lee Grace Dougherty received 24 years and Dylan Dougherty Stanley got 32 years for those charges.

The sentences in Colorado were vacated as part of a plea agreement that called for reconsideration based on the sentences the siblings would receive in Georgia and Florida. Chief District Court Judge Claude Appel in his Oct. 22 order temporarily setting aside the sentences retained jurisdiction to re-impose the sentences if necessary. In handing down the sentences in April for the crimes committed in Colorado, Appel said they were meant to ensure the siblings were held accountable..................

The three still face charges in Florida, where they are accused of shooting at an officer during a high-speed chase.......more at link.............

:woohoo:

June 23, 2014. Two of three siblings arrested in Colorado after a cross-country crime spree have to be resentenced for a bank robbery in Georgia.

A three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals cleared the sentences of Lee Grace Dougherty and Dylan Dougherty Stanley based on a procedural error by the lower court. But the panel upheld the sentence of Ryan Dougherty because his appeal did not challenge his sentence on procedural grounds.
