It's very odd isn't it. I know they know her better than anyone else, and she may have never wandered off before, but in my opinion that doesn't mean she wouldn't ever do it. Kids can do surprising and very out of character things at times. I also wish we knew more about Nora's special needs so that we can try and get inside her mind a little more and think how she might be thinking. If she has something like autism then she may not have had any concept of how dangerous it might be to climb out the window and go and explore a little. I truly hope they find her safe but the more time goes on the more worrying this is getting.
I have been thinking the same thing. The accommodation they were staying in is so different to what she's used to at home. A lot of the bedrooms in the various houses lead on to massive balconies to view the outside area. With the potential for animals like monkeys to be right outside the room, it would make total sense for her to go out and investigate something she heard or saw.
She may not ever wander whilst she's at home, but I do think this is a very different scenario.
