GUILTY MI - Aundria Bowman, 14, murdered, Holland, 11 March 1989 *located 2020, adoptive father convicted*

The truck stop location of the possible sighting of AMB was the Tulip City Truck Stop on Lincoln Road in Holland.

One of the people who messaged the Find Aundria M Bowman Facebook page said that at the time of the disappearance, the Bowmans lived on the North corner of 52nd street and Lincoln Road. That residence is no longer there. But the residence was about a half-mile right down the road from the Tulip City Truck Stop.

It seems to me that to someone who didn't know where AMB lived, it might seem strange to see her in a truck stop. However, if that truck stop is only a short walk up the road from her home, it might not be such a big deal. From what I understand, there is a mini-market at the truck stop. March 11, 1989 was a Saturday, and she might have just walked over there to get a soda or a candy bar during the hours before her disappearance.

That's a good point. Some of my relatives in Montana live near a "truck stop" that is basically the community center in their small town. There's a diner, mini-mart, and casino that the locals all go to. It would not be at all unusual to see a couple of teenagers stopping in the mini-mart for a supersize drink or getting burgers in the diner.

Wow, after reading every post on this thread! My heart goes out to you Aundria's mother! Just a thought but, maybe the natural child of the Bowmans knows something after having lived with his/her parents. Maybe he/she overheard a convo that he/she wasnt supposed to hear etc... Also, I hope that he/she wasnt a victim of abuse by his/her father. Noone should get away with abusing a child!

A former elementary school classmate just sent us these photos of Aundria from her first and second grade classes. I cleaned them up and adjusted the brightness, contrast, and intensity of the images.

She attended first grade at Glerum Elementary in Holland MI, and second grade at Woodside Elementary School in Holland MI.

Judging by Facebook, Aundria's adoptive parents (or at least mother) are aware that there is a search for her, the adoptive mother commented on something in July. Even if the adoptive parents are 100% innocent and were faultless parents (going against what her friends have stated), they do not seem to have held much love for the girl at all judging by their lack of response or care, even to provide more photos of her. Or, if they didn't even have any more photos of her - also a bit telling.

Based on the contents of the Find Aundria Bowman Community on Facebook, I can understand Aundria’s adoptive parents hesitancy to say anything about Aundria. Aundria’s biological mother’s frustration and feelings (understandably) toward the Bowmans are more than displayed in the group.

But it is not helping (and only hurting) the Bowman’s that they have been silent.

At the very least, the administrator of the group should reach out to the adoptive mother, through a private message and get info or pictures of Aundria she may have. There are many sides to a story, the Bowmans should have the opportunity to present their side. No one should make them out to be the guilty party. They should at least be given the chance to help find Aundria without feeling at fault for her disappearance.

Hate to be kinda OT on this thread but are they 100 %+ that Aundria Bowman is not our CA Aundria Doe? These pics look like they are a younger version of Carls reconstruction. Has DNA positively ruled her out?

I can give insight....

It's been a little over 3 years since Cathy has known that she's missing. It's very hard on her having little information or information that is not accurate.

She tried reaching out to classmates with no luck. She made the FB page; which was really slow to take off. She has limited computer skills which frustrated her more. I tried to connect with her late December or early January; took weeks for it to happen. I knew how to help her with the FB page but not being able to connect with her was frustrating for me.

Can anyone imagine going 2 1/2 years not being able to find anyone that will help you?

We finally were able to connect; things have happened very quickly. She had to step out of her slow moving "bubble"; each step was emotionally excruciating.

Then the Ohio gals were found. The FB page has been jumping. There were days we could not keep up.

I personally have reached out to the AM with no luck. What I see is that she is also not computer literate; also I do not think she has internet at home; so she is limited to when she can go online. My opinion is that she's "come to terms" so to speak that Aundria has been missing and can't or won't open the wound.

As for the page being against them; I do not think so. The page has been about getting Aundria's face out there. Yes; there are days when Cathy needs to scream; but for the most part; those posts have been removed.

I hope we can get some sort of closure. We just put a post up to Aundria in case she reads. We're hoping people that knew her will add a message.

Carl & Cathy have seen the post mortem photo; I trust she is not Aundria.
I believe the adoptive parents have also seen the photo & said no

If I were the adoptive parents, the more innocent I was, the more I wouldn't go near the virulence on the FB page. It appalls me and I'm not even emotionally involved.

I'd figure I've had enough grief, there's no reason to open old wounds, and they wouldn't listen to me anyway. The internet is too often like a river full of piranhas just waiting to strip the vulnerable to the bone.

I know carl has seen her photo. But it has been so long since Cathy saw her...awhile since the adoptives saw her... I would have to have DNA to be 100% sure....there are too many similarities.....not going to keep on about it just my input. :)

Yes, I am 100%+ certain that Huntington Beach Andrea Doe is not Aundria. HBAD's body was in very recognizable condition, and she bears very little resemblance to Aundria.

Not only that; Aundria did not have the dental work that Andrea did.
Finger prints were checked with no match according to Aundrias detective in Andrea's post. I emailed him a few months ago; he recently got back to me; he was going to look into a DNA rule out which IMO is a waste of time.

I don't understand what's offensive there. We circulate her photos; I don't recall any posts that are not about finding Aundria.

The attitude towards the adoptive parents struck me as very nasty. Maybe I was just in a bad mood that day, or maybe I just happened to catch one of the posts you said were deleted.

eta: and I certainly did not mean any criticism of you. I stand in awe of how much good work you do for the missing.

If you happen to catch something there; feel free to PM me so it can be taken care of.

First I want to say thank you all for the input. If not for the admins on my daughter's Facebook pg I would still be getting nowhere fast. My daughter and I are blessed to have such good people put energy toward looking for her. I don't have any other pics of Alexis nor do I know what exactly happened on the last days before she went missing, but I'm learning something new everyday.

IMO if I had not been found this would surly be a cold and forgotten case. I have no intention of letting that happen.

You're a brave and wonderful woman for not letting your daughter be forgotten.
