Man who stabbed woman repeatedly in Uptown street attack remains a fugitive
Morgan Evenson said Thursday that she was walking home about 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 in the 3100 block of Fremont Avenue S., where a man she had never seen before got out of a car, chased and tackled her to the ground before stabbing her in the face, arm, neck and back.
Police Sgt. Darcy Horn said Thursday that they are still looking for the man, described as being of Somali ethnicity, in his early 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a slender build and short hair with a slight Afro style on top. At the time of the attack he was wearing an Army green colored jacket and gray stone washed jeans.

The identifying clothing and characteristics of the assailant, including his race and ethnicity, have been withheld from the public for 23 days, along with sparse coverage of this random attack-- despite the fact that the assailant is STILL at large. Some believe this media blackout/ suppression has been intentional. The clothing description of the assailant was not even released to the public until today. Why is this? The assailant is STILL at large. Do the police and media not want to apprehend him??
Apparently the assailant jumped out of a car that pulled alongside Evenson as she walked home from her job at an Apple store. She was viciously attacked and stabbed in the face, arm, neck and back, including lacerations to her kidney. She is extremely lucky to have survived the attack.
Why has the coverage of this vicious attack been suppressed, while the violent assailant remains at large? Political correctness run amok? That's my guess.
