I know this will not garner many fans, but after reading the entire psych evaluation and all supplemental documents, it didn't sound like he ever had a chance. His mother didn't want him, his father didn't want him. He sounded like collateral damage from their toxic relationship, and a 15 year old in an adult prison really doesn't stand much chance. I'm actually surprised he came out with the ability to blend back into the world as much as he did. His entire life eval talks about his desire for attention/love/acceptance. I hate to blame the mother here, but I wouldn't be surprised if her resentment towards bio father was transferred onto TK from the earliest of age. Not every child can handle/overcome the yo-yo of "I love you/I hate you". I'm guessing that may have been the theme of his formative years.

Of course all that is not to condone his crimes, more to just try and understand what makes a person do what they do. Sometimes your nature and your nurturing are a toxic mix.

Does anyone else see the parallels between Todd Kohlhepp compared to Kylr Yust?

I dont believe either was 'born evil'. They were molded into perceiving things a certain way (nurture), plus the insanity they inherited (nature), which ultimately led to evil. It's tragic that an innocent little baby can be turned into such a frightening monster. If they had both been adopted out or raised by loving, nurturing families I don't think they would have grown up to be the horrible people they are today. It didn't have to go that way for either of them, but it did. The scarier part is that they were both identified as broken and dangerous at a young age, yet left to their own accords. And now here we are.

In all the of the 3 yrs I have been a member I never thought of any of "them" being members duh...but of course "they" can and no doubt are. Has anyone admitted or found out to be?

The only one that immediately comes to mind for me is DeeDee (Moore???), who murdered Abraham Shakespeare. It's a long read, but you would find it very very enlightening, and sad.

I wish I hadn't refreshed last night and poof, his FB was gone. It was after I had gotten through much of it.

In an article is was stated "A gravel path connected the garage to a dark green shed and storage container where KB was kept chained." I recall that on one of his posts he said something about painting something green... I didn't screen cap and can't recall what he was referencing or the context when he stated that....

This reminds me of the FCA case. Where there was so much in Casey's FB postings and computer and phone history which were sooooooooooooooo glaring and showed state of mind. Yeah, lots of photos hit the media were shown of her out and about etc., but iirc not much at all of the DARK stuff we reviewed here at WS which is analagous to the "double meaning" that we are seeing here also with Kohlhepps FB posts.

It's going to get interesting when his computer dumps are made, although since this isn't Florida,, we won't be able to peruse as we did during the Anthony trial.

I've read through this a few times and I don't really understand the point you're trying to make with the second half of your post. Could you clarify? You seem generally not in favor of background checks.

Realtors have access to people's homes/keys/banking information, and frequently meet people alone in empty houses. That's for a start.

Look, I have a loved one who got a DUI when he was young after his father committed suicide. That'll follow him for the rest of his life and stop him from doing things like visiting Canada. It sucks, but even he admits he's the one who chose to drink and get behind the wheel.

I would think that a realtor would have to be bonded and insured. Was he? Is that not normal where he operated business?

I haven't looked into this much, but my understanding is it's like those doctors in magazines who are 'recognized' as being the best of, or The Who's Who book you can pay to have your name in. I think it's something that he paid for, he doesn't even have an instrument rating. My husband, a commercial pilot, laughed at this, and says it really just says he passed the exam.
The FAA application only goes back for 10 years for convictions of crimes, but asks other things that I'm sure he lied about.

Agreed! The psychology eval administered in '89 listed an IQ of 118 - so his intelligence was above average despite having poor grades. I'm sure his grades were the result of apathy and lack of effort.


O/T: Is anyone else having trouble editing in Tapatalk? Every time I try to edit a post using the app, I get an error saying something about the title exceeds the maximum character limit but I'm not editing the title. I've only had this problem for the last two days or so. I've never seen that particular error before and I'm just curious if anyone else is having the same problem. I think the app may have been updated recently (my apps are set up to automatically update if my phone is connected to wifi), so maybe an update has something to do with it.

I am not having that problem with Tapatalk. I have a few minor annoyances since the update.
I am now waiting for an update that will hopefully fix the issues.

That's what I struggle with. How was he so sure no one knew where they were going that day. From all the hiding, car, it seems like he didn't want to be caught on one hand. But, on the other, the posts, possibly the ones on Charlie's FB, and a cell phone pinging for two days, how could he think he would get away with it?
