Bumping this because I listened to this song again tonite and since we havent discussed it since before Caylee was found.

Id like to change my previous comment and say that IMO she defiantely played this because it reminded her of what she had done.

Listen to it again and think about the things we now know.....

Maybe...but I hate that this group has been linked negatively with her. The group has also issued a statement on their My Space page in regards to this song being linked to KC. The song was written not to be a "scary or morbid" song, although I can see how some may take it that way now, particularly after linking that song to her.

I've been a fan of theirs for a long time and have been their concerts before. If, on the other hand, you don't like any metal, you won't like them.

I must have missed this thread the first time around. Now I can add "taste in music" to the list of things I don't like about Casey Anthony.

IMO the kind of music this song is has nothing to do with KC possibly playing it in memory of what she had done.

We all have songs that remind us of one time or another in our lives, sadly this one just possibly was KC's for what she had done.

If you find the song interesting, notice what movies she and Tony checked out, the day Casey was last seen alive (photos from Blockbuster are posted in evidence), one of the movies is about a child going missing and the NANNY took it, this is where she got the idea for her story. Tony Lazaro eventually admitted to police that he cut the small locks off George Anthony's shed and laid them inside for Casey to get the gas cans. (He originally said he waited in the car while Casey went in). He took a polygraph eventually. Also, her neighbor talked (in a desire to divulge things quietly to police) recounted that he saw Casey;and sometimes with a man, come to the house several different times over the month that she was living with Tony. Ricardo, Tony, Jesse or someone she picked up in her work as an "Escort" could have been in the house and left fingerprints on the shed. The fact that there were none means someone went to the trouble to clean the shed doors, which I have never done even though my home is very clean. Lee Anthony said in his interview with police that his dad and his grandfather owned a used car sales dealership and Mr. Anthony prided himself on keeping everything neat and the cars beautifully clean and "detailed", so he was likely the obsessive one. He likely has strong chemical cleaners around for general uses. I'm sure it was not lost on the police the nature of the storyline in the movies that Casey picked out at Blockbuster on June 16th! I think the day that George wanted to go in Casey's car to get the gas cans he knew she had taken (he told police in his interview she had done this before and never replaced the gas) that Casey rushed and took Casey's body around the corner of her house and laid her in "the zone, as Kimorarie Cruz says they called it as kids). Did anyone pick up on the fact that the phsychic that was on the phone with Dominick Casey as he was searching the woods where Caylee was found was not some random psychic who the family did not know? She said that "The Anthony family had sent me a teddy bear of Caylee's, when I would hold it, I would see everything about where she was exactly". Whoever sent her the bear also gave her clues about where Casey put the baby, and like all p"psychics" she studied every detail about the case and had already read Casey's friend Kiomarie's account of how they burried their dead pets there. Leonard Padilla was on the money about the "daisy chain" leading to how Dominick Casey knew where to look, and I found out he was right about something else. Kronk's girlfriend does work at the jail where Casey is, and Kronk's supervisor does live on the Anthony's block as their neighbor and talked to the Anthony's regularly at the vigils, etc. It was no coincidence with the psychic or with Kronk and no coincidence that she watched a movie about a nanny taking a child.

I just don't think Casey is that deep. I have a hard time imagining her attaching any regret or introspection to dumping her murdered daughter's decomposing body among the empty beer cans and trash down the street. I think Casey listened to that song because it was trendy at the time and that's about it.

I think the chick's "pretty vacant." That should be her song.

I think if Casey listened to this song for any reason, other than she just liked the song, was to congratulate herself on a job well done. She had left the past behind-rid herself of a soul that she neither wanted nor invited (intentionally planned) into her life. She did not "feel" guilty about Caylee. She felt pleased with her own self for having left her behind. I think if anything, she was just gloating within.

I somewhat agree, although I think maybe she did, after a listen, ascribe some meaning to the lyrics. If you were KC, how could you not? Maybe she found a sick sort of redemption in the lyrics. I don't know if she feels sorrow for what she did to Caylee or not, but this whole circus has to consume her. If you're focused on something, anything you listen to or watch is going to fill that mold. You're in love, and every song that comes onto the radio is a love song. You murder your daughter, hate your mom, want a guy, and have become [in]famous, and there has to be song for that, right?

She didn't, however, write the song, so I'm hesitant to give too much meaning to it. I don't think there are clues here as to motive, or especially means. I just think it's possible she listened to it, said 'Wow, that's me!" and thought it was catchy to boot.

People find meaning in song lyrics every day, whether it's for personal reasons or professional ones. CBS is particularly good at editing promos for their shows with significant songs. This song was released early enough that she remembered it from before this situation and then revisited it.

I don't know. I don't think it has evidentiary merit, but it is interesting.

The song is about erasing your past and starting over. That it is same theme as Casey's diary entry. Whether Casey wrote the diary in 2003 or 2008, changing her life and new beginnings are significant to Casey.

I wonder if Casey listened to that song while she was with Tony? With Caylee dead and while living with Tony, Casey's past WAS erased and she was starting over. I can't see how she WOULDN'T relate to the song.

Then Casey was out on bail and she had been dumped by Tony. She was in fear of being arrested. Again Casey's past was erased. Her whole summer had been about going UP then DOWN...like a rollercoaster racing through her life, she'd erased her past again.

Maybe Casey didn't write the words, but she could have.

How better could she have described her life?

(I love Chris D. and the group. The song is about starting over and enduring and tribulation. It is meant to inspire and comfort. I think the song would have meant something even if Casey wasn't a Chris D. fan. But, she was a HUGE fan...making it all the more meaningful.)

Bumping.. I hope the SA does play this at some point (the song that KC kept playing while out on bond in '08), especially now that she is admitting that Caylee drowned..More meaningful than ever!

Sevendust The Past Lyrics:
Beneath the water
that's falling from my eyes
lays a soul I've left behind
the edge of sorrow was
reached but now I'm fine
I've filled the hole I had inside

I pray it doesn't scream my name
so I light a flame and let it breathe
the air that kills the shame

I'm up
I'm down
like a rollercoaster
racing through my life
I've erased the past again

a risky morning
I feel like I'm alive
I can't believe I've made
it through this time
the edge of sorrow I
lived in for some time
(lived in for some time)
has left the hole I have inside

The burnin edge that drowned my hate
was the last thing I ever felt
or thought I could escape

I'm up
I'm down
like a rollercoaster
racing through my life
I've erased the past again [x2]

You led me here then broke me down
the difference is this time around
I will not let you see me drown

I'm up
I'm down
like a rollercoaster
racing through my life
I've erased the past again [x2]

Erased the past again now
Erased the past again

Beneath the water
that's falling from my eyes

Please forgive me! I know this is an OLD post but I just listened to this song again and it is really strange. I definitely think she was revealing something about Caylee's fate through this song. I also found this article about the song and FCA very interesting :

I know this is old news but somehow I missed it or didn't recall the song! Listening to the song tonight and the lyrics just really creeped me out..:shakehead:
