Spain - Lisa Brown, 32, San Roque, 4 Nov 2015 *Arrest*

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/awol-boyfriend-briton-missing-spain-6915663

[Lisa's current boyfriend] vanished around two weeks ago after Civil Guard officers leading the search for Lisa arrived to take him away in an unmarked police car as he repaired the vessel with friends. ... “He was last seen on or around the date of Lisa’s alleged disappearance.” A Sotogrande port worker, who asked not to be named, added: “Civil Guard officers turned up at the port a day or two after the British woman was reported missing and took Corner away with them. ... “There were around three or four officers and they put him into an unmarked car.“I assumed he was being taken away for questioning. “It all seemed amicable and he appeared to go willingly but there’s been neither sight nor sound of him since that afternoon and no-one round here has a clue where he is at the moment.“
Civil Guard officers have been back several times and searched the boat but he’s not come back.“The port security guards and dry dock workers have been told by the police to call them if he shows.“It’s as if the earth had swallowed him up.His boat’s still here but he’s vanished.

..wait.

WHAT?

BBM and IBM. He hasn't been seen since the day she disappeared, but Civil Guard officers took him into custody two days later? They took him with them, but nobody knows where he went?
WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON HERE?!

Not looking good for this poor girl, 6 weeks now.

The boyfriend, Simon Corner, could be in Thailand (couple of pics of him in link):

Police suspect he may have gone to Thailand after he reportedly used a credit card there.

Could be using a different name:

A person on social media contacted Lisa’s upset sister Helen Jordan to inform the man detectives were hunting had an alias of Dean Woods.

Boyfriend of missing Scots mum in Spain says he's got 'nothing to hide' and 'happy to help the police with their inquiries' subject to a warrant, maybe:

Corner’s legal adviser Jason Coghlan said: “If
and when there is an actual warrant issued against our client, we will advise him accordingly.

Article on the 'legal advisor' Jason Coghlan:

The gangsters on the Costa del Sol are significantly more comfortable trusting me, a man they’ve known for many years, either in person or by reputation, rather than some Spanish lawyer whose name they couldn’t even pronounce...

...For many years I plied my trade as a villain, gangster, call it what you want, but through this I found a way to turn all the negativity into something positive.

Family of missing Scots mum in Spain demand answers after her elusive boyfriend finally resurfaces

Lisa’s sister Helen Jordan, 49, told the Record: “I definitely think the pressure from the public has flushed him out. His face is everywhere.

“It’s progress at least. The police need to step up to the mark now and he needs to put himself forward for questioning.

“He has been on a nice wee holiday for six weeks and now he says he has nothing to hide so we will see.”

Looks like the boyfriend (Corner/Woods) is in Thailand.

His legal advisor Jason Coghlan confirmed he had contacted the company through its office in Thailand.

Mr Corner said he had not fled Spain and was out of the country for work reasons.

He also said his client, who was jailed last year in Gibraltar for possession of an offensive weapon after a nightclub altercation, had told him he was “shell-shocked” to discover he was being portrayed as a man on the run and had “nothing to hide” because he had not done anything wrong.

Hunt: Simon Corner, left, is wanted in connection with missing mum Lisa Brown

A close friend of a missing mum has made a heartfelt appeal to a man being hunted by police in connection with her disappearance.

Jacqui Bush has written an open letter to yacht dealer Simon Corner urging him to speak to authorities about what happened to vanished Lisa Brown.

Police have been trying to track down Simon for more than a month to quiz him about the whereabouts of 32-year-old Lisa.

Jacqui took to social media to beg him to help bring her back to her young son, the Daily Record reports.

She wrote: “It’s Christmas day and people everywhere are waking up to their presents and their loved ones. However for one eight-year-old boy, he is waking up not knowing where his mummy is.

“Oh yes, he knows she is missing - he also knows you are missing - but what else does an eight-year-old really know or understand about this horrible situation?

I have no idea how reliable this papers' sources are, but they're saying the boyfriend is not just wanted by police:

THE AWOL boyfriend of missing Lisa Brown is not just being hunted by police, but also criminal gangs from South America, Morocco and Gibraltar, it can be revealed.

Another alias:

A source close to the investigation revealed that his real name could be Dean Tripp, while he also uses ‘Dean Woods’ and occasionally the first name ‘Damien’.

Could be in Portugal, not Thailand:

“We understand a credit card has actually recently been used in the Lisbon area,” said the yacht worker, who has known both Lisa and Corner for a year.

Disturbing possible incident in Ceuta (about 14 nautical miles):

A separate source, who knows Corner, backed up the claims, revealing that the convicted criminal had been involved in a ‘serious incident’ in Ceuta a month ago connected to two women and a possible stabbing.

Sister of Scots mum missing in Spain claims ex-lover has 'destroyed' her family's lives by not helping police inquiries

No new info, but an article about the effect on the family:

Today, sister Helen Jordan thanked supporters who joined a 25,000-strong Facebook group to help the police inquiry.

She wrote: “Thank you to each and every one of you that continues to share posts.

“Please keep it up as this is the only way we will get any answers of where Lisa is.

“He wants us to give up and continue with his life, when he’s just destroyed ours.

Still no real news on Lisa.

Looks like the boyfriend hasn't paid his 'legal advisor':

But when they phoned Corner to discuss payment of fees for their services, a ‘mysterious Thai women’ answered and they have been unable to speak to him since.

The legal specialist said: “He said his business activities have taken him abroad and that he has nothing to do with Lisa going missing.

“We agreed to make enquiries but he would have to pay us. I would be surprised if he does not come back online soon.”

Lisa's son and his father spent Christmas with Lisa's family in Scotland:

Lisa’s son Marco and his dad Tony Tomillero are spending time over the festive period in Dumbarton with Lisa’s family. Helen added: “It is bitter-sweet having Marco here, but he is keeping us going”.

A few days after Christmas, Lisa’s ex-partner Tony posted a moving message on a Facebook page which was set up by Helen and has close to 26,000 members.

He said: “In your home town Lisa, with our wee man... I know he keeps looking for you!”

The boyfriend is supposedly flying back to Spain this week:

It is understood Corner, 33, from Liverpool, will fly into Malaga Airport midweek and be met by a lawyer.

He is expected to make an appointment to meet Civil Guard officers in the southern port city of Algeciras who are leading the hunt for Lisa.

Jason Coghlan, whose multinational JaCogLaw is assisting him, confirmed in a statement his client had arranged to fly to Spain this week to address “unfounded allegations” linking him to Lisa’s disappearance and would be contacting police after arrival.

I don't think JaCogLaw would be my first choice for legal representation.

The boyfriend is back in Spain, but hasn't made contact with the police

But officers said today they have yet to hear from Liverpool-born boat owner.

A source said: “They want to speak to him but there is no arrest warrant out for him because there is no evidence he has committed any wrongdoing.”

The boyfriend has also cut ties with his 'legal advisor'

It said: “After assisting Simon and helping to facilitate his return to Spain in order to clear his name alas there now exists irreconcilable differences between Simon and JaCogLaw.

“Therefore we are no longer instructed by Mr. Corner and cannot assist the press or anybody else in relation to this matter.”

Full statement from JaCogLaw

Spanish TV's la mañana programme had a 13 minute piece on Lisa on 21st January.

http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/la-manana/britanicos-desaparecidos-espana/3451630/

I don't speak Spanish, so I've no idea what was said, but it's nice Lisa is in the media.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I think it's new info

It has emerged over the last few days that Lisa's car was vandalised and had its tyres slashed on a number of occasions prior to her disappearance.

http://www.theolivepress.es/spain-n...er-claims-simon-corner-has-not-come-to-spain/

Simon Corner’s former legal adviser Jason Coghlan has since told the Olive Press that Corner arrived in Spain and asked for his photo to be taken at Malaga Airport.

Coghlan claims he was then not seen again, and his phone has been switched off ever since...

However, brother Craig Douglas believes a photo circulating of Corner, 33, allegedly arriving at Malaga Airport is ‘bogus’.

Lisa's disapearance was raised during Prime Minister's Questions this week:

Martin John Docherty (West Dunbartonshire) (SNP): The Prime Minister may be aware of the case of my constituent, Lisa Brown, whose family were notified by Spanish police authorities on 10 November 2015 that she was being treated as a missing person, though she could have been missing since 6 November. Lisa’s mother Catherine, her sister Helen and brother Craig have visited Spain several times since and have met Spanish authorities and UK consular staff. Although the Spanish authorities state that they are actively working on this case, there have been various pieces of misinformation in the Spanish media which we know not to have been helpful. May I call upon the Prime Minister to seek assurances on behalf of Lisa’s family from the Spanish authorities here in London and in Madrid, as well as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, that everything possible is being done to ensure that Lisa’s family can get the answers they so desperately need?

The Prime Minister: I will certainly look into this case and, after the hon. Gentleman has raised it so clearly, make sure that the Europe Minister meets him to try to make sure everything possible is done for Lisa’s family.

"Family and friends of missing Vale mum Lisa Brown have kickstarted a campaign to get the British Police involved in the search to find her.

The 33-year-old has now been missing for 16 weeks, having disappeared from her home in the town of Guadiaro in Southern Spain.

Spanish police are investigating but Lisa’s relatives and friends are devastated that they are no further forward – and that Lisa’s eight-year-old son Marco is still without his mum."
