No news, but Lisa's family are now offering a reward for information.

It's so sad it has come to this.

I thought this was going to fade away, but some movement at last from the Guardia Civil:

A Europe-wide arrest warrant for the boyfriend of a Scottish mum who went missing in Spain has been issued by police.

Officers want to speak to Simon Corner over the disappearance of Lisa Brown, 32, in early November.

Corner, 33, left Spain days after mum-of-one Lisa vanished.

He was pictured at Malaga airport in January, claiming he was going to hand himself into Spanish police . He has not been seen since.

I really hope he's found soon.

If the police ever catch up with the boyfriend it looks like he'll need a new legal advisor.

The lawyer*, who has turned from a life of crime to a career as a ‘legal fixer’ on the Costa Del Sol, wrote online: “For clarity, that clown{Corner} is not represented by me!”

The solicitor added: “All I can say is, ‘what goes around goes around...and he has made an enemy out of me.”

*He's not a lawyer, he's a (reformed) gangster.

The boyfriend has been arrested in Denmark.

POLICE have arrested the fugitive boyfriend of a Scottish mum-of-one who vanished more than six months ago from her home in Spain.

Simon Corner, wanted for questioning over the disappearance of Lisa Brown last November, was held on a European Arrest Warrant in the Danish capital Copenhagen.

Last night the 33-year-old was facing “imminent” extradition to Spain after his forced return to face justice was approved.

The dramatic news of his arrest came as it emerged the Spanish authorities, who conducted searches of woodland and a river near expat Lisa’s home after she disappeared, believe she was killed and her body may have been dumped at sea.

BBM. Still hoping Lisa is found.

He looks older than 33 to me. Kind of out of shape. Why would a pretty woman like Lisa date him?

He has been using more than one name, so I suppose it's possible he's not really 33.

Either way, no I don't know what Lisa would see in him.

A few other snippets:

It was thought the arrest warrant against Corner, issued by a court in San Roque near Guadiaro on March 23, was for alleged mistreatment of Lisa.

Spanish officials have made no official comment about the arrest, which happened on April 14 in an unnamed port in Copenhagen.

News of the detention can be revealed now for the first time following Corner’s appearance in front of an extradition judge and his near-month in a jail in the Danish capital.

He will go appear before an investigating judge in San Roque once he is returned to Spain and fingerprinted at a processing centre.

[...]It is thought he was preparing to leave the country and try to put himself out of reach of the European Arrest Warrant by returning to the Far East when he was arrested.

BBM. Not sure what alleged mistreatment translates as. Domestic violence?

Mr Corner was arrested more than three weeks ago, but the news has only now come to light.

Lisa’s brother Craig Douglas, 46, today told the ECHO: “We were told three weeks ago about the arrest in Copenhagen.

“We are in touch with the Guardia Civil who let us know. We’re told Corner will be extradited tomorrow - he’s still in Denmark at the moment.”

[...]Mr Douglas added: “We don’t know if Lisa is still alive. We are still hoping, as you have to.”

Reports from Spain also indicated a second Brit had been arrested as part of the Lisa Brown investigation.

And confusion over his name cleared up.

Sources close to the investigation said the warrant was issued for homicide because “there was sufficient evidence pointing to Lisa having been killed.”

[..]The violent 33-year-old was born Dean Woods but changed his name after a string of run-ins with British police.

[...]A former colleague of hers claimed around the same time she would turn up for work at her old job at Ladbrokes in Gibraltar with bruises and was reported as saying Corner was well-known for making regular trips to Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta which is a notorious drug smuggling outpost.

The boyfriend handed himself in at a police station.

Surprised at that, can only think he ran out of money.

Police in Denmark revealed details of his arrest yesterday.

Soren Harbo, prosecutor at the Copenhagen police’s homicide department, said: “He was seen throwing a couple of mobile phones into the harbour by an eyewitness.

“He handed himself in to police. He asked to be extradited to Spain as soon as possible.

“Our divers found three or four phones at the harbour. They have all been given to the Spanish police.

“It is their case now and it’s up to them to decide what he is charged with.”

Civil Guard investigators from Algeciras who were involved in the hunt for her boyfriend Simon Corner flew to the holiday island to search the vessel yesterday with help from local officers.

The pontoon leading to the spot where the boat is moored was cordoned off for the examination.

Several forensics experts in white suits could be seen pouring over the yacht, currently up for sale at nearly £18,000, during the lengthy search.

It seems the owner of the yacht being searched in Lanzarote also had a European arrest warrant out on him in connection with Lisa's disappearance. He's been arrested in the UK while people smuggling.

It has emerged the 55-year-old Brit held at Chichester Marina in west Sussex is a friend of Corner and a fugitive from Spanish justice over Lisa's mystery disappearance.

He was detained on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration while the 17 Albanian men were held on suspicion of entering the UK illegally.

Sources said the arrested man had also owned a yacht in Lanzarote which Spanish Civil Guard investigators were searching today for the second day running.

Corner remains in prison

Simon Corner has been detained in Algeciras Prison Botafuegos, after the May 13 court shall, after take a statement provisional prison without bail in a case in which he is investigated for murder.

Corner Family Service hired two lawyers from Marbella, Enrique Sanchez and Pedro Jose Padilla. The first, which has office in the UK, told Simon Corner VIVA pleaded "not guilty" before the judge.

In the interview he stated that "unaccounted for Lisa Brown, and he does not know if you can be in Morocco in England ...". By the time their lawyers have not given more information.

BBM. That hasn't translated well. Lisa is in Morocco? He couldn't be in Morocco as he was in England? Here's the original if anyone speaks Spanish.

En el interrogatorio declaró que “desconoce el paradero de Lisa Brown, y que no sabe si puede estar en Marruecos, en Inglaterra...”. Por el momento sus letrados no han dado más información.

The article also details that the other two men arrested in connection with Lisa's disappearance were Brits aged 30 (? I think) and 70 - both released on bail.

The man arrested in Chichester carrying 17 illegal immigrants on his boat has been named.

BRITISH man wanted on suspicion of murder has been remanded in custody after he was arrested along with 17 suspected Albanian migrants at a south coast marina.

Stephen Andrew Jackson, 50, who was being sought over a killing in Spain, was held after police were alerted to a catamaran arriving at Chichester Marina in West Sussex.

Spanish authorities had issued a European Arrest Warrant for the Briton, which will be dealt with following legal proceedings in the UK.

Jackson appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with facilitating illegal entry into the UK but did not enter a plea.

Stephen Jackson, the owner of the yacht Spanish police believe was used to dispose of Lisa's body, pleaded guilty to human trafficking. He'll most likely have to serve time in the UK before being extradited to Spain (if we still have an extradition treaty with them by then).

A second yacht owned by Jackson, suspected of being used to dispose of her body, has been impounded in Lanzarote, and he must now appear at Westminster Magistrate’s Court where he may be extradited, to be quizzed by Spanish police.

The Guardia Civil have said that there is “sufficient evidence” to believe that 32-year-old Miss Brown has been killed, after she vanished on November 4 following an alleged argument with on/off boyfriend Simon Corner, aged 33.

Bit more at link.

A BRITISH yachtsman who smuggled illegal immigrants into the country is a prime suspect in the disappearance of a Scots mum in Spain.

Stephen Jackson, 50, is to be quizzed by police probing the disappearance of Lisa Brown, 32, from Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, on the Costa del Sol eight months ago.

It comes after Jackson –who will be investigated for his links to another key suspect, Lisa’s ex Simon Corner, 33 – admitted people smuggling at an English court.

This Spanish article claims the extradition of Stephen Jackson could be imminent.

The Civil Guard has confirmed this Wednesday VIVA is imminent extradition of British ul of 50 years (Stephen Jackson, according to British media) who was arrested in Britain for carrying on a boat 17 immigrants without Albanians papers but he had a APB and international arrest warrants for its connection with the disappearance of Lisa Brown, whose whereabouts are unknown since 4 November last year.

Although not specified date, the arrival of this man to court could occur in the next few hours or, at most, days. He will be questioned by the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of San Roque investigating the murder of the young Scottish and resident in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro.

[google translate]

I'm not so sure, according to the Mail he hasn't been sentenced yet for people smuggling in the UK (BBM).

Wearing a black suit, white shirt and black tie, Jackson appeared relaxed and smiled and waved briefly at onlookers in court.

Adjourning the case until next month, Judge Guy Anthony told Jackson: ‘You can expect a significant custodial sentence.’

Before then, Jackson, who used to live in Exeter, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court where he faces extradition to Spain over the murder. Miss Brown, 32, from Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, vanished from her home in Guadiaro, near Gibraltar and the upmarket Spanish port of Sotogrande, on November 4.

Sources in the UK said she went missing after a bust-up with Corner, 33, her on/off boyfriend.

Guardia Civil investigators have said there is ‘sufficient evidence’ to believe she has been murdered but her body has not been recovered.

Spanish police immediately suspected Corner and his yachting associate Jackson.

They believe Jackson, who owned several yachts, may have used one, called Daydream, to dispose of the body at sea. It was impounded in Lanzarote by Spanish officials in connection with the murder.

Can he serve his time in Spain while being investigated in connection with Lisa's disappearance? I'm thinking it's unlikely, but I honestly wouldn't know. Maybe if he's consented to it and is classed as a resident of Spain, perhaps.
