Okay, the Dr. Phil interview with the Petitos has been approved (Thanks, Tiff).

Dr. Phil was not the best interviewer here for "our" purposes IMO. Not to discredit him in any way, we look for the smallest of details as clues, he is simple giving an interview. So, with that said, I found the family to have given us a lot of info we did not know or have confirmed.

At 11:49
JP states he told them they were gonna call police and still received no response from them. At this point, the Petitos still believed BOTH of them were missing.

At 19:21
NS - “And they had (or have) the keys…”
JP – “And, how they threw the key away…”

And Dr. P does NOT follow up on this.

Um, come again? They threw away the key? Why would they ever bother doing that? Was there some sort of thought that maybe they’d say GP came back, left, and took the keys with her? MOO This is just one more of those nonsensical pieces of information that we are hearing that make so little sense that you cannot help but think it could be significant IMO.

Anyone else hear this? Thoughts?

I believe the "key" they are talking about is what happened to Gabby, Brian is the key to that. Not physical keys. JMO

I'm sorry but now all I can think of is this classic Simpsons episode.

On a somewhat more serious note, the Supreme Court actually weighed in on the use of such thermal imaging devices, the TL;DR is that they constitute a "search" of a home under the terms of the Fourth Amendment, and as such would require a warrant. I would assume that if they were able to get a warrant, they would just go in and tear the place up without the need for such things, though. I really cannot imagine a real-life non-ludicrous scenario in which BL is still somehow alive inside the house, and think-slash-hope they wouldn't be engaging in some bizarre long (and expensive) con of searching a nature preserve without good reason to think he is or was there.

I am not sure of this---> Did they ever take dogs into the house initially? I know it has been asked, but I have missed an answer if there was one.

Yes, the way he described the circle for where the firepit was and where the tent would go, I definitely think they camped there.
That was my thought too, when the pictures came out of the scene with the orange paint on the trees, it looked like the perfect spot for a hammock. Along with a cleared out space for a tent, there was a fire ring as well (from another video & the Dr. Phil conversation with the parents' today).

I'm just trying to understand and maybe there isn't any logic to any of this and it's pointless to do so. But as long as there is a possibility in any scenario, it's worth mentioning in my opinion just as I enjoy others' views. Which I believe is the entire point of this forum- bring recognition to cases, discuss and toss around ideas. I don't take your post as critical. I welcome all conversations and opinions. IMO.
And I hope you didn't take my comments about the tunnel concept as critical of you personally. I don't think it's feasible for the reasons I mentioned, but I enjoy your scenario spinouts. :)

This family has played LE very well. At some point LE is going to have to understand that the entire family are criminals, not just Brian, and question everything that comes out of their mouths. The only time they seem to speak is when they want to distract LE.
I disagree that the family have played police. The lawyer knows that the law permits people to refuse to cooperate with police in various circumstance, but IMO the FBI are no fools and they know exactly what is going on.

IIRC, when LE were first called to the home for the news of BL missing, the police statements referred to LE investigating further whether the information was credible. They are behaving as they are required to by law, they have no choice. They can't say 'we don't trust these people so we're going to ignore everything they say on a whim'. But they are not fools and if they are still searching the area, IMO it's because they have some actual evidence that he was there, and no evidence, yet, about how or where he ever left.

They either know where he is and don't care about searching for him, or they know he is dead and don't care about searching for him. I cannot think of a different option.
MOO
I honestly think that if they thought he was dead they would be screaming all day every day at the top of their lungs, "FIND MY CHILD"
Another interesting gem from CL:
When asked by protestors if they talked about GP while at FD park she replied:
"We couldn't, we had our kids with us"
If she didn't know anything horrible had happened, why would she say that?
Good Catch!

And I hope you didn't take my comments about the tunnel concept as critical of you personally. I don't think it's feasible for the reasons I mentioned, but I enjoy your scenario spinouts. :)

Not at all as I enjoy your posts as well. I appreciate opposing views as they help me look at something in another way. IMO.

I’ve been wondering about this. Is there a point where BL’s parents could be changed to criminal accomplices? Would that change anything that LE is currently doing? Alethea if you read this, do you have any insight into this?

edit: I don’t want to use CL since it’s confusing between the father and sister… do we have any initials to distinguish between the two?

maybe an obvious..but works. CLd CLs.

PSA: Highly recommend a follow-up review and FOIA request for anyone relying on that. I have seen even a Federal arrest appear on a (very) deep dive background check 10+ years after an event, when the arrest/disposition was supposed to have been expunged after completion of a diversion program (which had been completed within a year of the arrest).
Yes, I agree. Private databases are most likely the problem.

And I respectfully disagree Gabby wasn't a talented content producer. She was better than most and was on her way before she was blunted.
I agree with you & I also find ongoing critiques of her abilities or the legitimacy of her dreams to not be victim friendly. I also can't see why it matters...in the case of other deaths we don't debate endlessly if the person was good at being a secretary or whatever. JMO

FBI knows 1000x more than any drops of information we get getting. IMO.

But, FBI doesnt always connect the dots correctly either.

I think they have info from Swamp, and one outcome might be that Brian did not commit suicided but camping off trails might have lead to his demise.

Right, I was thinking when they served the warrant on the L house and escorted the L family out of the house, they could have flown a drone or used a sensor from outside of the house to confirm there wasn't another person hiding inside. They spent many hours searching and removing evidence from the house so I'm sure they were able to check anywhere a person could be found.
But, doesn't the warrant describe specific items to collect? They have to look around to find the items, but I don't think that drone use would have been part of the warrant. Do you know if items belonging to Gabby would have been listed? If so, wouldn't they have looked through all those boxes in the garage? I didn't read the warrant, so I have no idea, but I thought it was for mostly electronic items. ty jmo

Havent checked in for a few days. So the mustang was never at the park? I'm so far behind now!

Reading this, I think, did BL encourage GP to pursue her dream for the 18 months while she was saving, purchasing the van, and fixing it up, because all that served his interest of traveling to national parks. And according to the friend RD, he didn't like her working 50 hours a week at Taco Bell just before the trip, so he would have encouraged her quitting to go on the trip. So then once it's done and they're on the road, his encouragement switches to discouragement because he's gotten what he wants.

There is a lot more stress in the reality after the dreams end. I can see Gabby getting very stressed...and Brian, initially, just trying to calm her down...and it got out of hand with her wanting to progress, and him wanting to quit the "work" part.... or vice versa.

I think, most of us have been in those situations when reality hits.. a partnership in very different ways... There is no blame to either partner when this happens...

Police Report Shows Brian Laundrie’s Car Was Never At Carlton Reserve As Parents Change Timeline Of His Disappearanc

The mcguffins are raining down from media heaven. Thousands of little breadcrumbs, very little meat. Each has the power to suck you into a hole and long road to a dead end. Walk carefully. Be patient. Look for verified info from LE.

Tunneling from under the house? C'mon. This isn't Stalag-17.
When the raining stops I hope the Ls have to pay for the search at the reserve. Every. Single. Penny.

Do we know how Moab LE realized they had footage of a missing person?
Speculation only, local LE was contacted when she was reported missing, most likely with her picture and dates of her presence in Moab at the time.

Problem with the 2nd body cam - as was posted threads back, there is an investigation going on now bc they would not release it. Turns out it was Pratt's video - and Pratt's video does NOT match his official police report. That is a problem for Pratt and anyone who instructed him to change it. MOO
