I'd hope they have much much more to go on than just BL's parents word that he is there.
How long can they keep searching is a good question. The feds do have access to alot of people and equipment.
I think it is strange that we don't see them searching anywhere else.
We don't see them, but perhaps thats because the new is focused on the preserve and no where else. Is it still closed to the public?

I understand that because I too am of the opinion that he wasn’t exactly clear on why he had returned home without GP BUT and it’s a big BUT what if they even had an inkling that something was off. I know all you can do is trust your child and go with it.
I’m pretty sure they got very worried when Sept 10th came with a stream of phone calls and messages. I have another question though, if they had absolutely no idea, why were they ready with SB working for them immediately?
I have so many questions and random thoughts but I can’t quite formulate them yet All my words are JMO.

SB stated that he had been the Laundrie's attorney for 20 years.

I understand your perspective @jamicat. I'm not at all sure I would have done what the Laundries have done. But I do think their right to remain silent should be respected. It's kind of like the right to free speech. Easy enough to support if we like the speech. Hard to support when we don't but that's when it's important to defend.

JMO
It would be even better if their own lawyer would also remain silent. JMO.

This isn't a crime show on TV. The police just wanted to know initially where Gabby was. BL was the logical person to ask about that, since they had left on this trip together and he returned alone. Gabby's parents had filed a missing person's report. Where is she? Hey look, the van is back and BL surely knows where she is - but he ain't talking. (Why not? Oh no - he's seen interrogation footage!)

It just would have been so NORMAL for LE to ask BL where Gabby was. I think this anti-police line of Laundrie defense is disturbing.

Right--this is not a crime show on TV. I couldn't have said it better myself.

It is pretty clear that the relationship was well and truly toxic by the time the police pulled the van over. My best bet is we will never know what transpired between the two on the afternoon of Gabby's murder. However, I suspect something happened that really triggered BL who appears to have been a very insecure guy. Controlling of GP's every move and every dollar spent. Keeping a watchful eye on any friendly interraction between GP and any potential romantic threat to himself, and insisting she make it very clear the two were engaged and she was off-limits. GP loved him and tried to patietly explain he had nothing to worry about as he eroded her sel-confidence, slowly dismantling her sense of self to prop himself up and keep her tied to team Petaundrie. However, GP fought back from time to time "sticking up for herself" - perhaps she yelled and got hysterical at time, perhaps she lashed out in the face of cruelty.

I feel BL truly believed he was the victim here - of a needy, borderline, Craaazy girl. Possible triggers IMO:
- financial dificulties (BL hated commercialism perhaps a perceived waste of money on a purchase)
- jealousy (GP was friendly to another male)
- residual embarassment over LE scene
- BL felt betrayed by GP who didn't support him during the restaurant fracas.
- GP emasculated BL and made him feel inadequate romantically
- GP told him that the relationship was over (a massive affront to his ego)
- In the course of an argument BL said the cruellest things and lashed out, scratching, biting or slapping BL which caused an immediate violent and lethal response.

Sadly, a scenario that plays out on any given Sunday all around the world. All the signs of co-ercive control were in that body-cam footage. Even foreshadowing of strangulation with hands on face. A little bit of GP died when LEC told her she was the party at fault, BL finished the job. MOO.
And that is why I am wondering about those days apart in August. Where was Gabby, what was she doing?

I bet each decision of the FBI in other states ARE on the look out. We just don’t hear about any thing but the reserve.JMOO
Lord I'm on the lookout too. and i live on an island with 900 people. But we have had some interesting crime out here and once I treated a 'most wanted' guy in our little ER...so you never know.

-They're being 'lambasted' for withholding what could have been vital information from the frantic family of a missing girl.

- They are being lambasted for providing inaccurate information for the date the Mustang was returned, until the evidence was provided by the journalists

-They're mostly being lambasted for their failure to disclose the actual date their son went missing until the FBI discovered it. They watched a massive search operation set off searching for a guy they had been told was missing for 4 days, not 5 and they stayed silent for weeks.
That is all.

'Suspicious' things Brian's parents have done since Gabby went missing

I think they are mostly being lambasted because BL is not around for people to take their anger out on.
I think if the actual perpetrator was around, the anger would be directed solely at him. People would have moved on from their lack of communication with Gabby's family by now. imo
