I've been pondering this since the presser yesterday. I've returned to my initial view. NB entered the water. The speed of the police reaction and the immediate, seemingly vehement belief that despite this being a lone female disappearance, this is a MP enquiry and that NB went into the water, is down to one of two areas of knowledge not in the public domain: family information about NB or someone reporting a glimpse/sound of something/someone in the water that cannot been verified, but was persuasive to LE. No idea why this wouldn't be in the public domain, btw.

PF is doing a great job, and I'm glad he's doing it, but I've felt myself getting sucked into the PR line of 'if PF can't find her, she's not there' reasoning. I've had a word with myself about that, and I'm back with the sad, sad reality that a body in the water might not be found.

Im finding it extremely hard to believe these are different people... hair length looks to match (Nicola had lonnger?)

Emma looks EXACTLY like the person in the CCTV..

Please tell me im not the only one that instantly thought this.

That would be distressing. Police would be more likely to try their hardest to keep the family away under such circumstances.

I only ask because he spent an hour in the incident support unit.

Police extend search for Nicola Bulley towards the sea

Heather Gibbons has joined Ms Bulley's family and friends in questioning Lancashire Police's theory that she may have fallen into the River Wyre while walking her dog on January 27.

Im that first video he says the middle, next to where she potentially went in, is 3m-4m deep? I thought everyone had been saying 50cm?

Interesting development. Especially as he mentioned the rocks near where she potentially went in too. He says she'd be able to hold on to them, but only if she didn't hit her head on them first.

I would think the only reason for the OH being at the river with the search team is that he has requested to see exactly what is happening and what results the search team are finding or how their operation actually works. If it was me I would want to know exactly what kind of a job they were doing. He is putting all his faith in them finding his partner. If they choose to stop then they need to explain to him their reasoning behind ceasing the search of the river.

Any flood management systems would not have been in operation when she went missing. The river was very low. There aren't large diameter pipes in the river constantly pumping.

I know it's crazy but finding it hard now to shake that NB doesn't wear a ponytail in any social media and that the outer gilet in CCTV doesn't match those she wears elsewhere...

What has always bothered me is that she doesn’t seem to have been wearing a woolly hat, which there are numerous photos of. It was a cold morning, in a rural area, why no hat?

WS is a victim-friendly forum and there are very wide and very strict bans on the discussion on some possible means of disappearence (depending on the exact thread and mod), as these are seen as not victim-friendly. I might not agree with the presumption that either of these banned options means that "the victim is responsible" or is victim-blaming in any other way, but I shall not name them, as I don't want to shut that tread down to anyone and as more detailed discussion is therefore complicated anyways.

We do not speculate on a victim somehow being responsible for their own disappearance or death unless there is information from an official source to indicate that is the case. Mental health/depression/suicidal ideation, voluntary disappearance, etc. is not a known fact. No unwarranted speculation about possible affairs or potential mental health issues.

I imagine her partner’s there so the police can try to explain why they are so convinced she’s in the water. It’s also to show that the police and PF are working together, although they still couldn’t be further apart in terms of what is believed to have happened.

I suspect it was a slip, but does that mean it was necessarily incorrect? Possibly, but let's look at the evidence...what is it telling us? It might also point to the incredibly difficult, unenviable position the police may be in.
