Ive spent days reading all the posts and links by all of you amazing sleuthers and there are a few things that caught my eye and make this seem a little more premeditated, if there is any truth to the reports and articles that are coming out.
Joran himself admitted that he had met Stephany on the 27th of May in his confession. I found this quote interesting
But Álvarez says there are still gaps:
We also need to investigate the record of telephone calls that Stephany Flores received. We know that she received calls from Joran during the days before her death.

So they know that Joran and Stephany were at least in phone contact with each other from the time they met on the 27th? If this is true, there was more to it than just a chance meeting at a casino that night. Her own family I believe stated that they hadnt seen her since the Friday didnt they? We know she was with friends for some time on the Saturday but where was she on the Friday night?
Joran also supposedly called his mother before the murder to tell of the he and Stephany were being followed and they were robbed story? The same story he told the Chilean LE? Only he embellished it to them by telling them it was Peruvian LE who were responsible. Setting up a possible defence days before the murder using his own mother? Im sure if there was any truth to this, Stephany would have gone to the Peruvian authorities or at least would have told her father. And he threw in a reference to NH in that version to his mother? Always using that incident for his troubles. And if he told his mother that these two mysterious robbers showed them pictures of NH, wouldnt Stephany have questioned him then about who she was and what that was all about? And how did he know days before the murder that Stephany had a vehicle for them to be travelling around in? Maybe because they were travelling around in it days prior to when they left the casino on the morning of the 30th?
Then there is the question of the tidal charts off the coast of Lima. If there is any truth to that report, he most likely didnt print it off his laptop, he bought it. The question is when and I suppose why? Where might he have learned about tidal charts and how to read them to know where to toss a body so that it would not wind up back on the beach? If he did have one in his possession its unlikely that he was thinking of going sailing.
Another report way back, that first came out of Chile, was that he had told the Chilean LE that he knew Stephany came from a well to do family and that she was a lesbian. If he told the Chilean LE this, then either he did know this information from his conversations with Stephany or he was reading the internet on the run before being picked up. Not sure whether either of these facts came up on the internet before he was apprehended. If Stephany had told him these two things, then this was most likely not sexually motivated. It would seem more likely that he was befriending her to get his hands on some money. He might have tried to charm it out of her but if he was setting up the robbery story days before the murder and he had tidal charts in his possession, he might have been setting up for the possibility that killing her for the money was an option too. And we still havent heard what kind of luggage he left in the hotel room when he fled. He knew he was going to be in Peru for a few weeks at least so its unlikely he showed up there with just a duffle bag and a knapsack.
There was no weapon used in the murder. Joran himself seemed surprised by the amount of blood since he mentioned it in his confession. A strangulation murder and a body dump into the ocean would have been much easier to get away with. Stephany would forever be a missing person. Its possible it has worked for him before? But then Stephany had to go and struggle and the murder became bloody. And of course there was those darn cameras something Im almost sure he was not aware of until the fake coffee run and I think he was more sure of it when he came back briefly and looked directly at it before leaving to go get someone to let him back into the room. I think he realized at that point that he could never clean up all the evidence in his room and that the camera would prove that Stephany had never left and the only thing left to do was flee.
Of course all of this is MOO based on reports that we arent sure are even true.
