Please poke holes in my theory.
Is it possible that BB really didn't see or hear Maleah in the apartment?
I have been trying to poke holes in it and have poked a few. I think I can argue a pretty good case for BB that matches video, what we know and what we've been told. This will use parts of the official story.
DV may have been previously molesting Maleah. BB said she was usually home but just recently started a new job. Also Maleah has been out of daycare recently. Was BB at work Monday, was DV? Tuesday DV plans to bring Maleah home after BB is picked up by her friend but when he gets home she is still there. Sitting on the patio free of the kids she may be buried in her phone chatting. DV takes Maleah inside and puts her in her room, tells her to stay in there and gives her a phone/tablet to play on. If BB sees her DV could say she was sick so he brought her home, but she doesn't see her. DV would want to wait for BB to get picked up before he leaves to "go to work" to make sure she doesn't go in the room, or be ready with a reason Maleah is home in case she does. They leave separately at the same time an hour later (was DV late for work?) while Maleah is playing on the tablet alone in her room. BB has no reason to check the room because the kids were taken to daycare and she is preoccupied with preparing for her trip . The released video of DV getting in his car might be cut so far away because BB is also in the video in the beginning leaving the apartment, but not a suspect, so it is cut after she is out of frame. DV goes to work, says what he needs to to go home. DV gets back home and is now alone with Maleah. Skipping what goes on next of a sexual nature.
I am no fan of BB but this story or something similar seems plausible. A kid on a tablet/phone wont budge or even make a sound for hours. Should BB have seen her, could she have seen her... yes, but it is still easily possible she did not.

It could have happened that way, good theory work. But IMO when you put together a theory based on statements from two people who are in the situation these two are in ... We know DV is lying, and BB is potentially trying to avoid being charged with a crime in the death of Maleah. Remember, this is the woman who did not tell LE what she supposedly knew/suspected immediately. She gave critical information to QX and the media, then hightailed it to LE. That indicates either guilt or involvement, MOO. Who does that?!!

What little girl doesn't want to hang on her Mama when she knows she will be leaving? So we are to believe Maleah came home and could hear BB's voice and never once made a peep? It sounds strange because it's not true, IMO. What has came out of these two's mouths so far makes no sense. So as the old saying goes, if it walks and talks like ... it is.

Tim Miller has told us what he thinks of this case. LE has given us information through the arrest document. Video has given us limited timelines. I think we're stuck with very few facts until more information is released, Maleah's body is found, or one of those two tell the truth.

Rewatching last nights interview I cannot believe she never says "Maleah" I watched twice but still might have missed it. With no new information, I'm definitely scraping bottom of barrel speculating on words used or not. I need more patience.

The daycare thing bothers me as well. I'm curious when or where all these times DV allegedly brought her home will be shown in evidence via financials. (on top of testimony from day care workers which I am SO curious about when trial time comes) Someone has to pay day care do they not? It's strange to me because I hear how coveted day care spots are and expensive. Someone is paying yet allegedly DV regularly brought her home unawares to BB. Just odd.

Most day cares make you pay a weekly or monthly amount whether the child shows up each day or not, so it's likely there wouldn't be any financial differences.

BB is just showing so many tells.

She can't say Maleah's name

She isn't reaching out at all for any credible search

She keeps talking about herself, not the small missing child.

She's making comments about Maleah's skull. Why would you bring out such specific information about this?

My surmise (IMHOO), is that she knows Maleah is dead. She knows how it happened and who was involved. It involved something about head trauma (the deformed skull comment). She is very very concerned that DV will reveal information about the death that will be deleterious to her.

MOO
Bingo. Discredit him before he starts talking.

“You hid from me and you left me. I have no feelings for that man. I don't have no feelings for him at this point. He was the last person to see my daughter. I seen you when you came home. You didn't say anything to me. I stood up for you. I wanted to believe your story,” Bowens said.

I swore I would not follow another case like this but here I am. I have read along but not commented. There is not much I can add for any new opinion that has not already been stated to the exceptional posts and most people's thoughts.

I just want to show my support for this unfortunate child and my outrage for Maleah.

I also agree his "story" was ludicrous. Others have exceptionally pulled every piece of it apart and remarked on that and I agree entirely. I had pretty much identical thoughts and snide remarks I could have made about his three Hispanics "story" since the start (I am sure by the way Hispanics just love him for that--NOT). It is an absolutely fantastic "tale" that makes no sense. Is this man a drug addict or just, like in some other recent cases with other perps, think the more ridiculous the details and the more of them the more believable?? Does he, as well as perps in other cases with crazy stories, really think these are believable scenarios that LE and the public will buy into?? If so, well then, I will not be rude and comment on the estimation of the intelligence there. In the very unlikely chance it is true, he has my apologies

I gave her the benefit of the doubt at the beginning and I still reserve some but at minimum it is pretty clear that she at least enabled and covered for him and at maximum had involvement herself whether in this incident and/or in prior ones.

I also agree with most posters that her interviews are not helping her one bit and are doing the opposite, as his "story" did for him. The emphasis seems to be entirely on defending herself and not on the loss of her daughter and where she is, what happened to her and finding her child, Maleah!

And then there are possibly others who are covering, for instance, clearly there is the driver of the car who took him to the hospital and very likely knew or did even more. I would come forward if I were that person. If they are innocent and had no knowledge, they would be rushing to do so one would think (maybe they have, we may not know). If it was her, a friend or a relative of his, etc., I would still be doing so or do not complain when you are considered part of it or at minimum, an accessory or to have abetted or whatever the charge may be. Obstruction of justice? There are probably a few that would fit and you will also be judged for hindering the chance of this child being found, getting information, answers etc.

There really is not much more to say other than this child was an undeserved innocent and take a bit of unsolicited advice, mother of child, that is why no one wants to hear you proclaiming your innocence, your focus should be on the true innocent, your daughter, and on finding her. Your first interview with your activist said you need to be telling all that you had not provided and I sure hope you have, be honest and let the chips fall where they may. LE should have been your first stop, not the media.

I won't hold my breath with regard to anyone taking true accountability. I would say to him, do the right thing and tell where she is but I do not think we will see him do that, he is not man enough to do the right thing and take his consequences.

Going back to just reading on this one. Just wanted to say I am praying for this child and that she be found and simply wanted to add my support for her and state my agreement with the other outraged, caring posters here.

All jmo.

Hello, mods, those weren't duplicate links. I know they looked like duplicate links, but I was linking to the stories how they were posted on the Fox affiliates in Houston, Atlanta, and Phoenix for comparison purposes.

<Admin note: The links have now been reinstated.>

I see your point, but he's likely told LE all he knows.
I think it's all he can do to hold himself back, and hold it all together.
He had play by the rules of whatever custody arrangement was set. He probably didn't want to mess that up,and risk not getting to see Maleah,or his son in the future.

JMO. I feel like we put too much emphasis sometimes in how they appear in interviews, what they say, what they don’t say, crying, not crying. BB was ripped for no tears, early on, but now it’s: oh there’s tears but they’re not for Maleah. How can any of us really say that? The parents of Kenneth Howard were scrutinized, but the little guy really was lost in the woods. I’m not saying BB has made great choices, history points to abuse, but abuse and murder are two different things. I’m sure a bunch you will be mad at me for defending her. I’m just not ready to say she was involved or knows what happened. We still don’t know when she left, or when Maleah was murdered. Some of you say that LE surely knows when BB left. I agree, so why hasn’t she been arrested too? All JMO and Of course I know it’s possible I’m wrong.

We all can safely assume that DV got the body out of the house, but I wonder if he disposed of the body or someone else did..if someone else did he may not know where it is. So many questions, so little answers. Still want to know when BB left for the airport and who dropped him off at the hospital.

I'm not sure about Texas. But my experience is that daycares require a sign in and sign out with a time. It is most likely computerized. State laws can be very strict with daycares that receive any subsidies or who's clients receive subsidies. And my understanding is that applies in this case.

True. Given what we have seen this far, BB may have been more than he could deal with long before Maleah went missing. I'm speaking from a personal viewpoint, an ex-DIL makes it very difficult to be involved in our GK lives.

I hope he and his son spend the rest of their lives loving each other through this awful loss.

I'm in TX and receive day care subsidies. You're given a card, similar to a credit card, and the day care is supposed to have a machine where you swipe the card and enter a PIN to verify your identity, and you hand-enter the check in time. The system saves the date and time this information was processed as well as the date and time that the parent enters by hand.

They've changed it within the last year or so to where you only have to swipe the card once a day. Also, you can call an 800 number to do your "swipe." The swipes are required in order to receive the subsidy for each day of day care and you only have 6 days to do them, then you're charged the regular day care rate. So, the time of the swipe if it comes from the day care only means that the parent was in the day care at that time. It could have been at drop off or at pick up. (Or, I guess, if a parent stopped by at a different time of day.) But, since you have 6 days to catch up on swipes, you could stand there at the little machine and do "previous day check ins" for up to 6 days-making it look like your kids were there when they weren't.

Also, my kids' dad has a card too. If a "swipe" comes through the 800 number, then the kid might not have been at day care at all. Day cares do generally keep track of times in and out for kids. The last time my kids attended a day care that didn't have you write down their time in and out was-gosh-probably 8 years ago.

Also, like, let's say he knows where she is but he isn't the one who hurt her. If he doesn't tell anyone where she is, he might hope that he will get out of this without any punishment. And, if they do find her and can prove that someone else hurt her, maybe he can escape punishment that way because maybe they'll lump all of those things together and put them on the other person. That could be incentive to not talk.

But he also may have talked and it's being used to build a case. All of this is just me considering possibilities.

This whole case is thrown with curve balls. Too many possibilities of everything.

BBM- When my son was that age he would cry non stop every time I left.
How can she not remember if she saw MD in the apartment. According to her, the engagement was off. So that should be a significant event in her life to remember. MOO
