GJ has been saying for at least a year now, that it *won't* be going to the coroner until all the lines of enquiry have been exhausted.. but now it seems likely that a coroner's inquest may be scheduled for sometime this year, even though he is still saying they *haven't* exhausted all lines of enquiry.
It just *feels* like it's a bit of trying to make things fit within his narrative no matter which way things go. I fear they have not much more than they had a few years ago. Really hoping they have more than what we've read about the 4 in the news, but jmo.
This is from around the third anniversary of William's disappearance, almost a year ago now:

14:19 Reporter: Is there a point there will be a coronial investigation?
14:21 DCIGJ: They’re, we liaise with the uh state coroner. I've met with the state coroner in relation to this? Ah, the appropriate time for this matter to be referred to uh uh, the coroner, would be when we've exhausted all our lines of enquiry. Um, at this point in time we're far from exhausting all our point, uh, all our lines of enquiry so this point in time would be premature for the matter to be referred to the coroner.
14:44 Reporter: At what point is the trigger point?
14:48 DCIGJ: The trigger point in referring, and I'll base this on *my* experience in homicide investigations, is when we've exhausted all the lines of enquiry. At this point in time we haven't? If this matter was referred to the coroner, basically, and I can't speak on behalf of the coroner, but from my experience, it would be well, continue on with the investigation. When you've exhausted that, *then* might be the time for a coronial investigation. I'm personally hoping it *doesn't* get to a coronial investigation because that would be indicative of us finding out uh what's happened to uh William.
