GUILTY MN - Samantha, 15, & Gianna Rucki, 13, Lakeville, 19 April 2013

At 16 and 17 they are about to 'age out' of parental control at this stage. Maybe the court will consider them of an age to put forth their opinions?

The age of adulthood in Minnesota is 18, and the courts have already decided where they will live. It will be interesting to know what education these girls have had since they have not been in school for two years. When she turns 18, the older one - with no education - can walk out the door, but the younger girl has a few years. Keep in mind there are five children in the family. The other three have lived normal lives with no legal complains or complications.

* Four days after they ran away, they were dropped off at the ranch by the mother and her friend
* In April, the Star Tribune reported on Dale Nathan, who was with the mother and the girls in a car before he was dropped off
* Police searched Nathan's house in August, found was an email from a friend of the mothers, Dede Evavold, containing typed letters from the girls as attachments with their signatures
* Police searched Evavold's house on Oct 21, finding evidence connecting the girls to the ranch.
* Direct evidence of the mother's involvement has led to new charges against her, and charges are coming against some of the conspirators.

Grazzini-Rucki's charges and mug shot can be looked up on the Dakota County Jail inmate search.

It will be interesting to learn the charges against the couple who kept the girls at their ranch. They immediately scrubbed their website and Facebook pages so they knew they were in trouble. I hope authorities throw the book at them and figure out how Grazzini Rucki knew this couple. They had a connection to abused children so they may very well be part of the underground network that illegally harbors children.

The story never mentions the girls being at the hockey game, just the mother.

Case gets even more bizarre- the ranch owners have filed a child protection petition arguing the girls should live with them.

On what planet can anyone think that what they did was all right--and then have the gall to present themselves to the court, the state and the world as being a legit alternative to anything (including a return to their family).

In the petition, the Dahlens say they have been caring for the girls for the last two and a half years and in that time made “great strides” in overcoming their fears.

“We have provided the children with a home and shelter and all the necessities of life including food, clothing, health care, education, religious upbringing, love, support and companionship.”

Brings to mind the wackaloon Florida preacher and his wife who lured Rifka Bary away from her family, and claimed justification because folks like CPS, courts and other professionals just don't know that they are doing.

The Dahlens should be facing charges themselves, hopefully with some jail time involved. IRS might also want to take a look at the donors to that alleged non-profit they claim to be running. Makes one wonder how many other kids they have hidden over the years, and what kinds of contributions they have been getting to do so.

Just found this about owners of White Horse Ranch where the girls were found.

http://www.liftbump.com/2015/11/951...re-sisters-kidnapped-in-2013-have-been-found/

Photo and info about the connection to the PROTECTIVE PARENT MOVEMENT.

Their website talks a lot about this mission of linking abused kids and horses, but their "services" look like basic run-of-the-mill stable and riding lesson activities--including birthday parties. There does seem to have been a pair of kids who were there at one time. Not seeing much to indicate any actual personnel trained in therapeutic methods (and there are legit equestrian therapy outfits). Perhaps the owner had a dream much bigger than reality? or was using the non-profit as a cover for an enterprise that wasn't self-sustaining, bringing in donor dollars to keep it afloat (I have known at least one other such misuse of the non-profit designation to keep a dying business afloat).

Personally, I am religious, but I am also highly skeptical of a lot of folks who claim to be doing odd things (like hiding missing children) in the name of God.

The Dahlens won't have a horse farm when the father gets finished with a lawsuit - hopefully.

Definitely, this pseudo-religious couple should be in jail. I'd like to know more about their home schooling since the State of MN must approve home-schooling curriculum.

Just a start. Check out the homeschooling requirements in Minnesota. Do we really believe the Dahlens complied?

Girls are refusing to live with the father. A judge pulled them out of foster care (and probably laughing at the Dahlen's motion) sent them to an "intensive out-of-state reunification program"
A commentator suggested that even if the state can't prove a deliberate attempt to interfere with custody like the mother is charged with, it's still a gross misdemeanor to harbor runaways.

Actually, the father was awarded custody, and he is sending them to an out-of-state facility. (The father has quite enough $). (Read further down the article.)

"Mayer’s decision gave full parental rights back to Rucki, who said he will put them in a reunification program. At the hearing, Mayer said he agreed with sending them to the program, which he described as lasting six to eight hours a day for about six to 10 weeks.)

Samantha and Gianna Rucki have moved back into their Lakeville home, readjusting to family life after the teenage sisters went missing for two and a half years, their father said in an interview this week.

There are moments when David Rucki said he sits back and smiles. When he sees his daughters sitting on the couch playing together. When his daughters call him Dad. “It’s emotional,” he said. “I didn’t ever think I’d get to hear that again.”

But he said the family sometimes struggles as they work to reunite...

Interesting article by one reporter who put a good bit of time into following this story: http://www.startribune.com/michael-brodkorb-why-i-wrote-about-the-rucki-case/359626651/

It has interested me because of parallels to the Tsimhoni case in Michigan, particularly the attempts to use media, and this whole gaggle of folks who want to blow up the Family Court system, and just grant preferential custody to mothers. Also striking is that the reporter received threats to his personal safety owing to his interest in reporting on the case. There have also, apparently, been death threats to the GAL in Michigan, and possibly some others, along with an ongoing campaign to destroy the career of the judge in the case.

The mother is now out on bail, has requested a jury trial - July. Why the trial? She took the girls.

Interesting - is she going to hope the girls turn their backs on dad again?
