Finally getting a chance to listen to the presser. The guy is talking about what the hospitals can do when taking information. Personally think anyone traveling from those areas their charts should be flagged right away and patient treated as if they are contagious if they come in sick.

Does anyone know why their is a patent on ebola from the CDC? I'm not a conspiracy theorist and didn't really believe this sort of thing was true until I saw it with my own eyes. Here's a link: http://www.google.com/patents/CA2741523A1?cl=en I'm ignorant as to why there is a patent on a disease. Can anyone provide an explanation? Why would someone want ownership of this sort of thing?

Someone explained this upthread. It's not a patent on the disease, it's a patent on the DNA sequence. The DNA sequence could be very valuable in medications, vaccines, etc.

It isn't a patent on ebola. It is a patent on research they have done on ebola.

Taken from the article.

Confused I thought it took 72 hrs for ebola test to come back, were these people stuck for 72 hrs and if not how can you possibly say he was not contagious.

Only abc is reporting that so far and they didn't even note an update in the article... not cool imo

The news is saying the flight from Brussels is STILL being held at the gate in Newark.

These Press Conferences should just be titled Pat on the back time since the TX public has no faith in us.

So far it looks like the airline is handling this properly......which hospital will the two likely be taken to?

Troh told ABC News today that no one had updated her on Duncan’s condition for two days.

“They are telling me nothing,” she said. "They are treating me like a dog. I have no idea how he is doing."

So did the passengers already get to leave airplane or not? Conflicting reports suck.

She just received a brand new secluded home, transport, and food being delivered everyday. Sure, the treatment before CDC and local government was a little slow (and incompetent, if not still so), but she has zero room to be complaining about his condition.

What she should be asking is if a miracle is going to spare her life, her children's lives, and the lives of her nephews.

JMO.

CDC officials rushed to the jet, which had just completed a seven-hour flight across the Atlantic.
Officials removed a father and daughter from the plane, and they were taken to quarantine at University Hospital in Newark, the law enforcement source said.
The remaining 261 people on board were cleared to go through customs, the source said.
The plane landed at Gate 53, Terminal B.

Newark Liberty International Airport recently has been declared one of just 20 quarantine stations around the country designed to combat the deadly international Ebola epidemic and identify potential cases before they leave the airport.

Maybe that is because you (Louise) are not a relative or next of kin.

If you were court ordered to STAY in that infected house with your KIDS then you had better man up and start cleaning the sheets, the bathroom, kitchen etc... whether you want to or not. At that point avoiding the problem is no longer a viable option, you are living and breathing it.

and quite possibly subjected herself and other to dying from it. I have a bad feelings towards this family now.

I was no fanatic, but yrs. ago I worked in a factory, and cleaned on the weekends. I was a Pinsol nut/wacko. I would have had to had a breathing mask for all the bleach I would have used to clean that place up. But then again I would have done things differently right from the beginning, like telling him to keep his *advertiser censored* in Liberbia.:drumroll:
