This tragedy seems to be breaking news:

Police said they responded to King Road for a report of an unconscious person. When officers arrived, they “discovered four individuals who were deceased...”

ADMIN NOTE:

As Kaylee's parents said she was "a websleuth", we don't know if they meant she was an actual WSer or if it was used in a more generic sense.

If any member or guest reading here knows that Kaylee was in fact a Websleuths member, and her user ID, please send me a private message to advise. Tricia has asked me to find out as she would like to send flowers or make a donation to something in Kaylee's name.

Thank you.

Please read The Rules (linked in my signature), and continue discussion here.

Also, for anyone other than victims or an officially named POI/suspect, use initials or your post will be removed.

No sleuthing or insinuations/accusations against anyone who is not officially named a POI/suspect by LE.

The following Johnny Law youtube was originally posted by Mayboy1998 earlier today but because it was not a podcast host we were familiar with and we did not have time to view it in its entirety, it was removed. Having now had time to view it, it is being approved on a one-time basis because it does seem to provide an excellent analysis of the layout of the house, where individuals may have been sleeping, and it speaks to the location of the red liquid in relation to the overall layout of the house.

Thread is open again.

When someone posts a rumor, please do NOT respond. Just Report and let us nip it in the bud.

Responding makes a lot of extra work for us, and we get cranky when we have to read through almost an entire thread to find and clean up 25+ responses about something that should never have been posted in the first place.

Thank you.

Thread 13, post #977 has the pic with obvious berries on the tree right next to the deck.

Sorry, can't get it to link.

We don't quote post numbers because those can change over time due to Mods having to remove posts.

The following will help everyone know how to quote a post from elsewhere and then your link will not change due to moderation:

How to Quote a Post from Another Thread

ADMIN NOTE:

This post lands at random

To any members who have complained about removal of their off topic posts and TOs issued for derailing the discussion.

There is a very good reason Off Topic posts are a violation of Websleuths TOS.

First of all, the threads are not personal chat or comedy rooms. Off topic posts derail the thread, making the thread all about you and what you want to talk about. Each day, hundreds of members and thousands of guests come to Websleuths to read about the topic the thread is dedicated to, not to read about you or your life or what you think is funny. It is disrespectful to the victims who these threads are dedicated to.

The one thread you post off topic in is not the only active thread that Mods and Admins deal with every day. WS has thousands of threads, 212,000+ members, and only 4 staff to deal with hundreds of active threads 24/7 .

Simple math ... if there are 200 members currently online and even 5% of those members feel it is okay to sneak in that innocuous little off topic post, and each of those 10 posts receives 10 responses and those responses receive even 2 responses each, that is 200 off topic posts alone that our volunteer Moderators would have to search for and remove in a day (in addition to all the other TOS violations they have to deal with).

This means that for your little post that you think is harmless, our staff have to go through pages and pages of posts to find all the responses to your OT post.

Please be courteous to other members, the families and guests reading here, and to our volunteer staff who work very hard in trying to keep the discussions respectful and on topic.

Thank you.

ADMIN NOTE:

Stop bringing rumors into this discussion, and stop stating opinion as fact.

There is no approved source to support that EC was found in the hallway.

Mods have had to remove or modsnip tons of posts based on members discussing "whispers" (i.e RUMORs) and/or members theories that contain information as fact when such "fact" is actually based on rumor.

Members who violate the above TOS are subject to a temporary or permanent loss of posting privileges.

Maybe one of the victims was wearing a smart watch or other wearable tech?

Another point, maybe some of the victims took medications or used devices at a certain time before bed? Possibly even meds for sleep which could've made fighting back even more difficult? Just speculating.
that's actually a super solid point because if someone had a smart watch on the heartbeat tech is incredible these days and could give a near precise window of death.

I think it was “something that is not there”. Could be as simple as a jacket should be hanging on a rack if the killer said he stayed at home but his jacket wasn’t there in the time slot. Or simply disappeared after murders. Or the car not at the parking lot (but should be). Or, simply, a huge knife that disappeared from a frat? (Even I have a fixed blade cooking knife although I am not sure it would work for murders).

It also could be some case where the explanation doesn’t match the situation. Like, there is a shoulder/elbow trauma incurred during “running”, or cuts on the pinky/below it from “cutting vegetables” or “cat scratches”.
Or no pictures of a potential suspect at a party or club he claims to have been at or been at at that time.

In my experience it is pretty common for girls to drop out of sororities junior/senior year. It is a huge monetary and time commitment at a time when most college kids are starting to become increasingly focused on their future careers. This is not uncommon and would not mean that they were shunned socially from members of Greek life or their own sorority

This is very interesting. My Greek experience was not like that at all. If anything, a girl would drop out before initiation but rarely afterwards. In fact, I can never think of it happening at all when I was an active member. Now, girls may have shown up to events less often and not been as active (myself included), but they didn't officially "drop out" with a formal letter, etc. Each campus is different and Greek life varies from one university to another, of course. MOO

Generally, statuses available to undergraduates include active, inactive, non-continuing, and disaffiliated. Given membership is expected to be for life, perhaps "drop-out" is not the correct term. And most also have provisions applicable to upper-class members who may be excused and/or granted approval for a change from active status for a variety of reasons without "dropping out" (i.e., disaffiliating). Nonetheless, completely agree each campus is different and Greek life varies from one organization to another. MOO

In 2021 Idaho had 36 homicides. Where does the necessary experience come from in solving murders?

What also gets me is that even in this day and age, this house had seemingly zero security! Personally as someone old enough to have a young daughter at college and having been one myself, I'd have some kind of security. Door/window alarm, motion sensor or camera... They didn't have any of these things in place. Maybe someone noticed?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I haven't caught up on the threads yet. Could it be possible that this person use to live in Idaho/attend UI and was part of the inner circle of this group, then transferred, dropped out or moved away(for example to WSU), but had some sort of fixation or jealousy with the 4 and lurked their Instagram until for reasons only known to them, drove them to murder?

maybe. i also think that moscow as a community is very like a dont-lock-doors community? thats JMO because i remember reading things from people at the beginning of all of this that used to/currently live there and they mentioned that it wasn't uncommon to just leave doors unlocked and home surveillance wasn't super popular. also not to mention it's college party house.

hopefully this event sparks something where students within the community take more precaution

I'm sorry, having trouble with the "quote" feature of a closed thread.

Regarding the above post, and how they were able to narrow down the times of death, if any of the victims had a fitbit it would record a spike in heartrate or physical activity. MOO. Edited to add, any kind of activity tracking watch.

I also wonder about them having an Alexa device that might have been indadvertently triggered to listen and record data.

absolutely. i hope that's how they figured out such a small window because that's a huge key. JMO
