PLEASE DO NOT POST PICTURES OF SEX OFFENDERS!

Do not sleuth family, PERIOD. This includes previous public records which have nothing to do with this case. They are victims here. Plain and simple.

But DNA does not lie. Actually an unknown actual father might be the easier case - his kids with another woman might have no idea about their older sibling and hence have no reason to hide their genomes.

And as to adoption, we have so many “search angels” trained to find bio relatives. I have hope in these situations.

it is more difficult if the real dad is the perp’s neighbor. Then you might very well be suspecting a wrong family.

Campers hang food from trees as a precaution against bears. It is a chore to hang the ropes sometimes. Perhaps, in a spot frequently used by campers, they might leave the ropes in the trees.

If you looked at the 23@me map, they can predict what county your relatives came from. I hope they do better job with Britain/Germany than with my Russian/Ukrainian relatives, lol, but I suspect, they have a very good database on Western Europe.

I think that if the person is of your regular Anglo-German/Dutch/Irish stock, it is very possible to find relatives. Or at least it was easy through Gedmatch in 2017. Now, if DC sat on the DNAs they had till Gedmatch closed its base for LÊ, the situation might be very different now.

Churches in Europe? Great, my dad’s distant Finnish matches can check the church records dating back 500 years ago.

(Try, however, finding relatives in the country where churches were burned and archives mishandled, where relatives would abandon the children of an arrested brother, where people were sent to Siberia in 72 hours, where two wars and a revolution decimated the population. And even in such a situation there are amazing searchers who trace their lines up to 1600es.)

No, if the guy is of the regular US stock, given the baby boom and relative stability of the life here, close relatives should be found. It is much worse if the person is the first generation immigrant from the part of the world that is not much into genealogy.

What about the cook? The chef?
They have white neckerchiefs. Either the guy is into cooking (restaurant or even Indiana Packers), or his close relative is.

    Hi Everyone,
    .
There is a new podcast by Mike Morford called SCENE OF THE CRIME
Season 1 deals with the Delphi Murders.
While this thread remains closed I recommend you listen to this show. Mike is a great guy and he has always been someone I have enjoyed reading his posts and his ideas on cases.

This thread will remain closed for at least the next week.

Listen to Scene of the Crime and check back to see if this thread is re-opened.

    WARNING-WARNING-WARNING-WARNING

The last thread went down a hole, made it to another universe far away, then found an endless rabbit hole and was going even deeper down the hole until the thread was stopped.

To say the last thread went off track doesn't begin to describe what happened.

Do not NAME ANYONE AS A SUSPECT. I don't care if you use their initials.
Do not DISCUSS CRAZY RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM. How these even was introduced is a mystery.

    STICK TO WHAT WE KNOW.

We cannot sit on a thread and monitor the discussion day in and day out. We rely on alerts. Even then a thread can get crazy out of hand because we do not have enough volunteers to keep up so that is why we rely on our members to mind our rules and don't post a bunch of crazy crap that makes all of us look like we should be in straight jackets.

The police, in this case, are sick of the Internet because of all the crazies out there starting rumors. At Websleuths we want to stay above the type of people who are causing the problems and show by example that we are different. Websleuths is a place we want the police to come to and read and hopefully get something helpful.

I can assure you if anyone in law enforcement read the last thread they are done with Websleuths.

So please stick to the facts, offer your theories but make sure your theory is in line with reality.

    Thank you,
    Tricia

I have been wondering the same thing as there have been no updates at all with msm (that I can find), I’m hoping that this will be solved soon, this has been such a mysterious case. Hoping that this year Abby & Libby will get justice!

Thank you for opening this thread prior to the 3 year anniversary and prior to the Down the Hill podcast on the 5th.

Thread #120...may it be the one that becomes titled with 'ARREST'.

Good to be back here! We are less than 2 weeks from the 3 year mark, so maybe there will be an update. Not just another "Today is the day" press conference - although those do keep the case out in front of the public - but something with substance.

    A few questions:

    1) Do you think LE will have a 3 year press conference even if they have no new information to share? My thought is that they will not since they were roundly criticized for that awful one on the anniversary last year.
    2) Do you think there is any chance that LE will release any new information on the third year anniversary? My opinion is they certainly need to release more information but they won’t. My fear is that if they don’t release any new info on 2/13 then the case slides into cold case status. The public will stop paying attention. The same public they claim they need help from.
    What do y’all think?

Normally I don't believe we would see a 3 year PC in most murder cases, but whatever I think of LE's progress they are on a roll here on this case. I believe they will have one and it will be along the same lines as last year's February PC. And no, I don't believe they will release much more info. Outside of positively confirming they have DNA or the cause of death I don't what else they could release. And those two bits of info probably need to be retained.
